Wait after four years. For CRDI engines, I think it's better to use Shell as suggested by Toyota & Hyundai. I remember, the Starex common problem is the CRDI system. I was thinking, there might be a common problem for all CRDI system when using dirty diesel. The question is, how can we determine the correct diesel for our CRDI engines.
It's early to tell that the main or real caused of failure is the quality of fuel. I do hope that Toyota will not follow the footstep of Hyundai's failure.

I think we can't rely on our readings. As Innova_boy is saying, around 85% lang ang accuracy. His claimed ay tama para sa akin. Talking deeply with this subject, sensors or sending unit is coming from our fuel tank consisting of float, resistance and wiper that utilizes electric current. The amount of current available will directly operate the fuel guage which is also feeding MID (multi-information display). Resistance varies according to temperature. Also, actual tank level is not linear to our guage readings. That is, 1/4 level in our guage maybe still 1/3 in our tank. Besides, reading during winter is far different during summer. One good example is the fuel level. You will have different reading on your level guage according to temperature with the same actual tank level. Since same principle applies, inaccurate readings will be registered in our digital meter.

ang lalim niyan busyroad. nagpafull tank ako this morning. the guage says 8.2km/l, my actual computation is 8.9km/l, so mga 8% error, I also noticed aside from that km/l reading, bakit more than 1, tapos ano yung range? tamad akong magbasa ng manual pero masipag akong magbasa dito sa forum

J-Gas ang sa iyo, di ba?

Ganyan din ang sa akin. May spots ng oil leaks sa garahe. But the Service Advisor told me na it's normal dahil sa excess oil.

Let's see if others have the same problem.

I dont thing it's normal for a car to have oil leaks. there is something really wrong with the engine like the gasket at oil pan maybe... Better complain it this early...

I even use thin/low viscosity 0w40 fully synth oil and so far no leak..

    WBR,

Iluv_detailing: viscosity no idea. toyota oil ang ginamit nang casa during my 1st PMS.

just got my innova last saturday. sori ngayon lng ako naka post kc inikot ko na agad sa metro manila yng innova ko.

here's my experience with my Innova G M/T Diesel...

steering - slightly tilted cya sa left ng 10 degrees tapos straight ang takbo nya. i called casa & sabi nila pwede daw ipa-align sa kanila free of charge. sa saturday ko pa mapapa-check 'to.

clutch - "long-throw" pala ang clutch nito, compared to my 95 honda civic and 2000 hilander xtrm na 'short-throw' lang ... u will need a lot of legwork (lalo na sa highway) pag laging nagcha-change ng gear.

dashboard - nalula ako sa laki ng dashboard. pwede na cguro ako maglagay ng placemat, plates, spoon & fork, and a glass of water sa harap, and i still have space for my rice & ulam! hehehe

reverse sensor - u can turn it on or off using the switch, pero mas maganda sana pag lagay mo sa reverse, i-on nya na agad yng sensor. kng nakalimutan mo kc i-off yng switch naka-ilaw lagi yng light indicator & hindi naman nagwo-work yng sensors (basta i'm not engaged on reverse gear). baka mapundi agad yng light indicator...

rear window defogger - sana nilagay na lng nila yng switch sa taas, ka-linya ng hazard switch. for me, mas maganda 'reachable' yng defogger switch kc kng sa baba cya, i have to lean forward (a little) para ma-switch on ko cya, and medyo delikado yun while ur driving. just my opinion.

3rd brake lights - mas brighter yng 2 brake lights sa sides compared sa 3rd brake light. is it bcoz of the tint? dapat same luminance yun... check ko uli mamaya...

rear door - tawag ko dito 'one-way door' ... kc pwede ka pumasok using the rear door, pero once naisara na yng rear door, the only way to go out is thru the 2nd row doors or may magbubukas sa labas. sana merong door handle para i-open yng rear door.

MID - 1st time ko pa lng nag full tank last saturday, hindi pa ako nagpapa-full tank uli. based on MID, 7.5 km/l ang average ko. nung na-stuck ako sa traffic sa e.rod last saturday, bumagsak ng 4.5 km/L!!
yng RANGE is the 'maximum' range u can travel based on the remaining fuel sa tank. pwede mag-change 'to kc based yng computation nya sa average consumption (km/L).
ok rin ang may MID once u know the purpose of each and every function it shows.

rear aircon switch - dapat pag naka off yng main aircon switch sa dashboard, dapat off na rin yng rear aircon fans. baka kc masira yng fan kng naka-on na agad & sabay pag-start ng engine.

matting - is it waterproof? parang nagdududa ako before ako pumasok ng vehicle. mukhang napapaisip tuloy akong bumili ng plastic-type na matting. tapos sa likod walang matting. nung nag grocery ako & bumili ako ng ice cream, medyo nabasa pala yng carpet sa likod. di ko napansin agad na wala palang matting dun.

ceiling - sana ginawa na lng nilang plastic or leater. madaling kapitan ng dumi yng ceiling (i don't know the type of material they used).

body structure - parang ang nipis ng flooring nya. i can hear road noise & sipol ng turbo kahit naka volume 15 yng radio ko. sabi ng casa hihina daw yng road noise year after year dahil sa re-aplication ng undercoating (by ziebart). even yng pagbalik ng 2nd row or 3rd row seats from folded back to seating position, maririnig mo yng tunog ng bakal sa labas ng vehicle.

the ride -- comfort is close to a sedan/car. if you own a AUV tapos lumipat ka ng innova, u will definitely appeciate the big difference!

my next post tungkol naman sa fuel consumption ko. i'm planning to bring my innova to subic sometime in july para malaman ko naman consumption nya pag highway driving.

innova_boy, ganda ng leather seats mo. magkano inabot niyan sa kel-seat. genuine leather yan diba? nagtanong ako last time abutin ng 29K tapos 2 weeks ko daw d magagamit ang sasakyan kasi aalisin nila mga upuan.

  20. #1600
rmlopez: 29K for the seats only? Is it genuine leather? or 50% synthetic and 50% genuine leather?
