Hello. I'm thinking of getting an Innova J diesel variant. I went to the showroom at Toyota Calasiao earlier today to check it out, but they didn't have a unit available for test drive. I went through this whole 129-page thread but I couldn't find info on some items, so I'd like to ask a few questions for those who own the diesel variant:

--> since the D-4D engine is turbocharged, is there a cooldown period wherein the engine should be left to idle for a minute before shutting it off?
--> what is the ground clearance of the Innova? I couldn't find the figure on the Toyota Phils web site.
--> does anyone have a diesel Innova that has more than 10,000 km mileage on it? I'd like to know if anyone has noticed any adverse affects of using our Philippine diesel fuel on this newly-designed CRDi engine. Has anyone seen any black or white smoke coming out of their diesel Innovas?
--> Regarding the J variant, does the lack of the rear wiper/washer combo affect rear visibility when driving in the rain?
--> To those who have the G variant, how effective is the reverse parking sensor? Is anyone selling an under mirror/backing mirror for the Innova yet?

    Thanks a bunch.

MIkey just remember na ALL NEW CARS ARE GOOD UNTIL THE CUSTOMERS START COMPLAINING.

However, when considering a vehicle I look at the whole package, not just the price and power features. Malaking bagay din sa akin yung performance ng makina kasi araw-araw ako nagmamaneho sa highway mula Pangasinan hanggang Tarlac (that's a 120-km round trip); I need a vehicle that has sufficient ooomph for quickly overtaking those dang slow trucks and pesky tricycles on the highway, which is why on the basis of engine capabilities, I am tending towards the turbocharged Innova over the normally aspirated Adventure powerplant. My Sedona by the way has over 83,000-kms in mileage after three years of service and its still performing very well; unfortunately, I don't have the budget for another one

I would've wanted to wait a few more months before buying for feedback on the D-4D engine, but the missus wants a second van RIGHT NOW

Points to be taken: Spare parts ng Toyota kahit saan bundok sa Pinas meron at mura pa. Mitsubishi after sales service bulok example: Union Motors sa Otis, may nakawan pa ng parts. Base on my experiences, GM and Mitsubishi will never again be my choices. Mitsubishi- 4D56 engine in the adventure is taken from the 1987 Pajero. Mausok after 1 year palang. Pick Innova, go to Toyota Pasong TAmo. mabilis makakuha ng unit than any other dealership, based on my experiences in May 2005.

Go for the innova, hindi ka magsisisi, malakas ang diesel engine at matipid, at ang galing pa ng design, hindi mukhang AUV, and sigurado for the next 5 to 6 years modelo ang sasakyan mo!

Just to test the power of Innova, try it at uphill climb along kennon road going to Baguio... You will see who will be left behind in the uphill climb...

Some comparisons between the two I have noticed (since I once owned a gasoline adventure GLS Sport, matic:
    Innova adventure
    1. performace ; powerful, minimal vibration ; gas version is slower than D4D
    2. Economy ; I so far get 8.4km/L city drivng ; best I got was 7.3kpl city
    3. comfort ; I can rest my left arm on door ; left arm rest too narrow
coil spring at the back ; leaf springs
    seats 7 comfortably ; seats 4 "comfortably"
    4. safety ; 3 pt seatblts for 6 passengers; 2 lang ata e
    5. aircon ; 7 powerful aircon vents ; 6 I think sa bagong advntre
    6. long drives ; kahit 2 hrs di ako pagod ; pagod na aftr 2 hrs (tagtag)
    7. name ; Its a Toyota ; well.....

Based on my experience, of all the cars we owned, toyota talaga ang nagpabilib sa amin, kahit ano pa siyang model.
