    Update as of 2/24/2010

They will call out starting this week. Collate the information that they have gathered and present to higher management. They promised to update me regarding this. I am still hopeful that we are making a difference here.

But there's more.. What's sad is that our 5k innova had a faulty shock absorber. how can this be possible?!

5kms old, shock absorber = broken. warranty covers this di ba? please enlighten me what I can/should do under this circumstance.
Regarding yung shock absorber mo, I had my innova checked this moring sa casa, and I was told na ang shock absorber ko ay busted and needs replacement...What? My ride's millage (or kilometrage) is till under 15,000...buti na lang sabi ng casa na they will replace it free of charge dahil under warranty and its part of warranty... now my question is IS THE LABOR FREE? Hope so dahil This Saturday pa yung sked ko...But the thing is: Do INNOVA's shock absorbers easily bust???

labor is free also for shocks replacement, but they would not replace it by pair meaning if only one side is busted then that's the only one they would replace.

since 2005-2006 busted shocks are common problem, and we are now in 2010 and yet we still hear of faulty shocks even on newer models

toyota has turned deaf, blind and mum to all the problems as the years had passed.

TIA

how would you notice that the shock absorber has leak(s)?

Is it really usual for an innova to have like a dripping water underneath the car after a longdrive, while the a/c is ON...

please correct me if im wrong I do believe its from the a/c, like an aircon in our house, after you turn it off it will leak some water...

next time before having Pms talk to the Service advisor and ask agad magkano lahat magastos.Pa total mo agad... Tell to them na Oil change lang. Wala ng iba.Para di ka m shock sa bill.. hehehe

    hope this will help...
its not so much the bill that i'm shocked, its my 5month old, 5000km innova having a busted shock that i'm disappointed with. seems like i'm not the only one too.

not only are toyota's boring, now they're unreliable too. and trust me, its not by accident, they know, they just ignore, coz we're still buying..

    P3214 consists of the ff.

engine oil change - regular lang
    oil filter
    engine flush - what for?
    brake cleaning
    fuel treatment - what's this?
    engine detail
    sand paper - ??

Mga brod, sana isama na rin ni fireblade yung shocks ng innova sa complaint niya sa Toyota Philippines. As you can see maraming may complaint kahit na sa shocks ng new innova models.

The engine flush, fuel treatment, and engine detail sum up to approximately 50% of your total bill. Next PMS, be firm to say to your Service Advisor not to include them. There's no need for these items since your car is fresh and new.

    Visual inspection will do.

On a dry and sunny day, look underneath and check the shocks appearance. If it appears wet, try to touch the surface and check if this is oily. If you find oil on the shocks body then it is busted.

You can easily spot a defective shocks on the rear, but for the front you will need to turn the steering full on one side to peek on the shocks.

One more way to check if your shocks are busted and leaky was to water it down with a garden hose. If the shocks body appears to be repelling water then you have a busted shocks. BTW, this is how I found out that my front shocks are leaky.

I have a noob question. What does shock absorber look like? Why does it leak? Does it have water inside?

Wala pa yata, you can see the actual wall-wall matting at their shop. The owner Jerry has Innova always parked in front of the shop.

Yung sa akin, DIY lang using coiled mat (like 3M). Gumawa lang ako ng paper pattern para fit na fit sa floor.

Sorry no picture for the front.

It will leak hydraulic oil when busted.

Same with Toyota Balintawak and Toyota North Edsa, you can watch and check infront of your Innova while they PMS your car.
