The logic is already in your first posting, for them fortuner owners, that is to lubricate the fuel delivery system. The question is, Is it required for our engines? For me the answer is no. 2T oils are formulated for those twostroke engines that doesn't have any lube oil sumps. They are designed to be mixed with fuels and lubricate the combustion system as they get inside during the combustion process. As for lubricating the fuel delivery system, our diesels and gasolines should already do that as they have some form of lubricating properties as they pass through the fuel system.
Sir Timo07,
Sorry, shouldn't have used the term "logic", maybe "technical explanation" ... in which you have clearly explained, very glad to have this discussion with you guys first before experimenting, I might end up asking for help re. black smoke
The real concern is really the reliability of Toyota's fuel delivery system. Please note that this Common Rail Technology uses a very high pressure system as compared to previous technology. It's not a question of how to lubricate it, but rather, was it designed properly?
That will be a pretty long discussion heheh
Now, if those 2T practice brings forth positive benefits and no negatives, then by all means I will do it myself. But then we need hard evidence and even an endorsement from our car's manufacturer, before we can subscribe to such practice.
Agree with you, but I'm sure the TMP will stick to no need for additives, but the casa's will still sell you injector cleaners
Btw, 2T was brought up coz some fort forumers use fuel additives (booster/cleaner) w/c are expensive, and 2T was brought up coz it cost 30.00. Hmmm... K&N filter na lang kaya???? + alcohol water spray :evillaugh:evillaugh
Oo nga eh. Sometimes those service reps contradict what the manufacturer say (through the manuals) in suggesting the use of those additives/cleaners. Don't know about those alcohol water spray but a clean and efficient air filter is sure to bring out the best our engine can offer.![]()
If that's not so good for a small scooter with a 90cc carburetted engine, it's definitely non-recommendable for a hyper-sensitive common-rail injection system like Toyota's D4D. I'd rather top it up with proper fuel additives than 2T.
Sir Roberto_Minosa,
You have a very good point.... many thanks for sharing, things we put into our fuel and engine are not like putting tints or changing seat covers
Gil
^Tumpak! And yes, SAs make you want to buy stuff such as additives and services such as engine flushing when ToMoCo doesn't. Then they'd bill us when something breaks down...Ironic, huh?
BTW, in the '90s we used PerTua and PET on lolo's old '82 Lancer and dad's '83 Laser/323 with no bad effects. It made the engine run smoother. Lately, we tried out Oberon's own oil additive on dad's Altis 1.6 with the same effects as PerTua.
good day...
thanks! appreciate your replies
2 lang ang papalitan mo? baka magka problema ka sa stability and hindi maging accurate ang FC reading mo.
Ma-void din warranty ng under chasis mo if ever may alignment problem ka..that is ung nasa warranty pa Innova mo.
heads up guys! newer innova's coming soon. i was told by my SA along with the news that release of our innova is due on wednesday. i thought the current model was the updated version already, that means double facelift?! lol
i asked what the changes are, he wasn't sure though he said G nad V variant remains completely the same. just that the J variant gets airbags.
The rear door of my Innova is squeeking, im sot sure though if it is the hydraulic or the hinge. Can it be solved if I spray wd40 on it?
Don't use WD40 on the hydraulic stay/lift, it will eventually degrade the seals and eventually will make your stay/lift inoperable. Use regular grease instead.
Also have it checked on your next PMS, might be one of your stay/lift is already inoperable. It happens to me that one day my rear door does not move up and stay, good thing my ride was still under warranty and TMBC replaced them both at the same time.
No idea on the price, might as well ask any dealer. You can actually call any parts and accessories department of any dealer or email them by their websites.
To test your door stay/lift, try to test it one at a time by removing each sides and open the door way up. If it can not make the door stay up then it is already due for replacement.
