All gasoline sold here all unleaded. Its been like that for almost ten years already.
For VVT-i, Pteron XCS is fine already at 95 RON (Research Octane Number). Blaze has a higher RON which is unnecessary and not to mention more expensive/liter. The same case with Shell V-Power. V-Power is also blended with Ethanol, which in my view is not great.
I have a diesel innova purchased last 2006 and I've observed some changes recently (in the last 3 - 4 months of use):
- humihina ang hatak - from the basement parking in our condo, paakyat sa exit level, dati barely konting bwelo lang kaya nya akyatin yung rampa, recently, mas kailangan ng mahabang buwelo para makuha ng buo yung rampa, or else mabibitin sa gitna.... same naman habits from starting, a few seconds, aircon... a few seconds... drive away (mula pa noong 2006)...
- bumaba na yung fuel efficiency - although I may not have been consistent with checking the tire pressure as often and as religionsly as I should, I just have a feeling na related to dun sa hina ng hatak...
i'm really hoping this isn't in anyway related to the CRDi issues of Innova...
I'd be up for 110kms checkup by september... is there something I need to have casa check out especially? or normal lang to?
Hi Bokers,
4 wheels only, the spare is the original alloy & tire .
MSPC56791979,
I will try to put up a pic, I promised this to mumsky way back sa 500th or 600th post... forgot about it .... hiya ako kasi wala pa one year puro na gasgas... the consequence of living in Tondo and going to office at sta cruz manila...
Regards
gil
Is the bumper cut for the tailpipe covered with black soot? Or have you noticed thick black smoke coming out of the exhaust when the car revs? If so, there's definitely something wrong with the engine.
The 2.5L D4D isn't supposed to stall on an incline. It's got more than enough torque to climb long, steep ramps even without speeding up.
Dear fellow innova d4d peeps,
I have been dropping in the forums of Fortuner club philippines, specifically re. their information sharings to D4D engines.
They have been singing praises in adding 2Toil to their fuel ( ratio of 1:200) for D4Ds, for lubricating the fuel pumps and fuel lines... works pretty well from testimonies of many fortuner forumers.
Any thoughts on it? I'm tempted but chickening out ... but heck if it works for fortuners D4D, not to mention their more expensive rides.
Thanks
Gil
Check the turbocharger. Baka stuck up na yung bearing the turbine kaya nasasakal yung air intake.
Or simply baka madumi lang ang air filter.
Just my 2 cents.

gud morning po sa mga Innova owners
4 days old na po innova J dsl ko. ang sarap magdrive ng brand new!
ask ko lang po mga experts....
di pa ako nakapagBreak-in, puro normal city driving lang. (Avg. 50 - 70kph)
kelangan ba long drive for break in?
Mas ok ba talga takbo pag fully synthetic compared to mineral oil lang?
I am willing to spend more on fully if the engine works better and fuel economy.
Need your opinions mga ser and mam.
Thanks.
Go for it rather spend money on car burloyloys' IMOYour next oil change will be at 15K PMS, but on the 10K PMS they will change oil filter + 1 liter oil only.
Not much fuel economy though, but your engine will run smoother and have extra protection.
I'm using synthetic oil up to now and my ride is already nearing 3 years and yet still my engine runs perfectly and my tail pipe ends are still clean and sometimes drips moisture specially in the morning (signs of healthy gasoline fed engine).

Thanks for the input regarding 2T, I'm don't really get the logic behind adding 2T (in correct dosage ) to diesel, but Fortuner forumers have tried it with good feedback, better than adding kerosene or a little gasoline which helps clean the fuel lines and pump... please don't get the impression that I'm trying to start an argument here hehehe... I mean K&N filters, Full Exhaust, intercooler, piggy back chip to ECU, even alcohol water spray I kinda understand ... 2T oil as lubrication hmmmm.... but if i still had my crosswind and 1st gen everest , might give it a try since they are non-crdi's.
hopefully more fellow innova peeps can share their thoughts here.

The logic is already in your first posting, for them fortuner owners, that is to lubricate the fuel delivery system. The question is, Is it required for our engines? For me the answer is no. 2T oils are formulated for those twostroke engines that doesn't have any lube oil sumps. They are formulated to be mixed with fuels and lubricate the combustion system as they get inside during the combustion process. As for lubricating the fuel delivery system, our diesels and gasolines should already do that as they have some form of lubricating properties as they pass through the fuel system. The real concern is really the reliability of Toyota's fuel delivery system. Please note that this Common Rail Technology uses a very high pressure system as compared to previous technology. It's not a question of how to lubricate it, but rather, was it designed properly?
Now, if those 2T practice brings forth positive benefits and no negatives, then by all means I will do it myself. But then we need hard evidence and even an endorsement from our car's manufacturer, before we can subscribe to such practice.
My 2 cents sir.![]()

Mile2 is right on the money, 2T oil deposits carbon on the combustion chamber. I used to own and wrench on my Honda Dio and Yamaha Jog street/strip 2-stroke scooters. The cylinder heads on both scooters become lined with thick carbon soot, and we had to clean 'em every couple of months. That's the effect of burning 2T. But it's required on motorcycles since 2-stroke engines run hotter due to the double power stroke; and 2T oil cools the cylinder through lubrication.
If that's not so good for a small scooter with a 90cc carburetted engine, it's definitely non-recommendable for a hyper-sensitive common-rail injection system like Toyota's D4D. I'd rather top it up with proper fuel additives than 2T.
