Know what, I smoked a 3.0 D4D Fortuner once (or twice?). So I'd recommend the VVT-i Innova [M/T] if you drive like me. Better yet, import a 2.7 VVT-i Innova if it's possible...hehehe...

Probably. On the D4Ds, I never felt any difference of acceleration rate between the M/T and A/T Innovas, but on a drag race, I'd bet on the A/T. You won't use much time between shifts since it's an A/T. All M/T Innovas don't have quickshifters, and it's more like rowing a boat than changing gears.
Thanks Sir Robert for the clarification. Since i like driving fast but don't like redlining. i guess that the D4D AT would be a better choice.

The higher torque output of the D4D, on the other hand, will provide it better pulling action and this is good when you normally load up your vehicle or travelling in mountainous or elevated areas (Baguio for example).

Nevertheless, as sir Robert pointed out, acceleration of the D4D is not far off from the VVTi. I also have the same experience. Owning a D4D, I was able to compare it with VVTi on numerous occassion when I rented Gas Innova for business use.

Acceleration difference between AT and Manual transmission doesn't matter when you have a family car. If your way is almost always stop and go, you are probably better off with an AT for convenience and ease of driving.
Thanks Sir timo and sir gil for the clarification. i went to toyota north edsa today.

they are giving 30k disc off published prices for the innova. seems that they are having a shortage on innova units. could be a marketing ploy...

is 3m the best tint toyota has to offer? i also saw platinum and u.s. brand in their accesories booth buh they said 3m was the best and that 'pilit' lang daw na included sa deal yun for my innova (personally, me thinks its jus sales talk).

also four types lang ba talaga 3m? 1)neutral 2)medium black 3)magic black 4)super black. same price ba lahat toh? since nasa deal siya let's choose the most expensive di ba?!

we want a high quality tint kasi for uv protection and keeps the interior cool, so is 3m as good as they say? i mean toyota dude did say he was giving us the best.

AFAIK, Platinum is a little inferior than 3M... though they belong to the same company... there's V Kool tints which offer superior UV protection but the cost is much higher.

    go with 3M.

Yoko lang sa 3M is makikita mo everywhere yung 3M imprint.

Any idea kung magkano aabutin ng V-Kool s Innova?

A light touch of acetone can remove the 3M marking AFAIK. As for me, i just leave it on.

the 3M logo only goes to show that what you got is genuine 3M tint.

sorry, no idea on the price of V-Kool.

thanks! i don't think toyota's willing to give me a higher priced tint than 3m though. "pilit na daw e" anyway what's the best type of 3m tint for a black innova? dami pala variants like iba iba series. good thing i still have some time before the unit arrives. ^^

At one time, my previous Boss whose into buying and selling mercedes told me that one of the cars he sold had a set of vkool tints worth around 50K. Nuon pa yon. Here in Tsikot, I read 1 post saying he had installed a vkool tint sa front windshield at about 5K. Imagine sa harap lang e 5K na. Yung sa innova ko, 3M lahat, alittle over 4K lang. Yun kasing platinum na ino-offer sa casa e hindi raw maganda according sa feedback from others.

    I have an 05 Innova G a/t.

Platinum ang tints ng car ko, cheap, ok naman ang visibility nya even on night and rains, though medyo easily scratched yun tint compared sa 3m. Pero sulit na din..

What's the ideal size of tires should we put on if we're upgrading to 17's? Yun pong tipong di masyado tatagtag yun ride. I know meron na pong post na same topic as mine, Im just saving the trouble of finding it in these 700 pages of posts.

go for 3M. i don't think there's any other brand of tint that can rival its popularity.

IMO, safest shade would be ung magic black yata... ung parang nagmi mirrorized sa labas... tamang tama lang... you can still see clearly kahit gabi... then magic neutral naman sa front... yan pong combination ang nakalagay sa akin.

225/55? Ive tried some tires before sa 17's 205/40 (cars), and I think meron po talaga na brands na ok ang ride quality. IMO, Dunlop LeMans has a better ride than Michelin Preceda, but the Dunlop is noisier.

Sa tingin nyo po para sa 55, do you have any specific tire brand in mind when it comes to better ride quality?
