I'd budget around 10K to 12K. Kasama ba fuel filter replacement sa 40K service or not (yung sa Vios lintek ang mahal)? Just make sure the CASA does what it says it does. You can refer to the owner's manual for the list of 40K kms items.

Mukhang the Gen. 10 is included in the recall but not the Gen 10.5.

Sorry newbie here. My fuel consumption on my 2012 Altis 1.6G manual is 12.47 km/l. 25% (Makati) city and 75% highway (SLEX). Is my car fuel efficient or my feet is just heavy on the gas pedal

That's normal for mostly highway driving.

That's normal. I get around 11km/L+ on a 50/50 city/highway mix with my 1.6E.

Hi guys, just finished my 10k service. One of my complains is the unusual rattling noise coming from the steering column. They checked it and found out that they need to replace my "intermediate Shaft". Are you guys familiar with this? Thanks.

TADA! PhP 7,250 for my 40K PMS... nope the filter was just inspected; no need to replace pa daw. In the manual it says 80,000KMS for replacement. Replaced all fluids during the PMS ( brake, atf) Not bad for the cost... Yun lang, normal every after replacement of spark plugs, ANG LAKAS SA GAS!

Malakas sa gas? Ayaw mo nun, mas malaki kita ng kumpanya mo sa yo? :D Ganyan din yung 9th gen Altis ko, after change oil and tune up for some reason its consumes a little more... labo. Try resetting the ECU after a tune-up maybe?

I experience something like that after start up and initial move of the car. I think it's normal. I'll likewise observe mine closely.

Update on my FC, my last tank-up got me 10.32km/L, pure city driving on the mecca of Metro Manila motorists that is EDSA. This is using Petron XCS.

I also experience the soft thud. I think it may be the brake pads sticking to the disc at the start, but this is just a guess.

go for Altis if what you are really looking for is PERFORMANCE. Elantra is really a looker, but has not proven yet anything when it comes to performance.

For performance though, the Elantra is ahead. Try to check also the safety ratings online for the cars that you are looking at.

Performance is my priority sir, but i think Elantra is somehow have less km/l than the Altis.
And also i'm afraid if Elantra also have the knocking issue just like the accents.

Performance? There's nothing impressive about the Altis' performance. It's an adequate car that's really fuel efficient, but it doesn't have an awe-inspiring engine. The Elantra has a better engine in fact. More horsepower and more linear power delivery (the Altis doesn't have much top-end grunt).

And don't get me started on handling. The Altis is a nervous car when driven through corners at speed. Again, the Elantra fares better, though it's not as good as a Mazda 3 or Focus in terms of handling.

Precisely. Nothing to stir your loins, but it'll be the perfect daily drive as long as you're not looking to carve corners. I'd personally get a 1.6 Elantra though if I was in your shoes, but I'll definitely be changing the rims and adding fog lamps.
