Hmm, they're telling me high probability that this may be caused by battery daw baka defective. I didn't take chances na and asked to get this fixed sa casa. They're towing it there on Monday.

Well at least I was at home when this happened. Sana lang ma fix within the week.

OK good news is I got the car back within 30mins of bringing into service center. They were able to unlock both steering and brake. The problem was really the battery, or rather one of the wires connected to the battery was loose. They tightened it, checked, tried starting the engine several times and it seems ok and really to roll.

I no longer have the cold start problems anymore so it seems to be as good as new (whew!)

Also, I'm guessing nagrevamp na sila ng procedures nila for Service. Mas maayos ang appointment system nila and well coordinated. Buti naman natuto na sila.

By the way, meron ba naka Hurricane drop-in air filter sa inyong mga 10 & 10.5-gen Corollas? I tried this sa Strada namin and ang ganda ng performance niya, sana laging ganun for life, hehe. Subukan ko lang sana for my 1.6V by the time na papalitan na yung filter, mas mura kase than KNN e. My cousin discouraged me from trying it kase daw sa mothertruckers daw na ka-club nila medyo hindi maganda. Another friend of mine said that Ford and Nissan daw sensitive mga ECUs nila kaya kelangan pa i-tune. Which kind of beats the purpose of the 'drop-in' feature of the product.

Of course there's a more technical explanation for this so feel free to share your experiences and know-how.

ayun! it's the synthetic oil that takes the biggest chunk. kung regular oil, around 650 petot lang yan for the 4 liters. tapos you can do away with the fuel additives and engine flushing. pag around 30k or 40k kms ka na lang magpa engine flush. plus yung mga brake cleaners parang hindi naman makatarungan. wala naman ding ganun sa mga bills ko dati. I also paid less than 3k on my 10k PMS sa toyota bicutan, basta regular oil lang.

650 for 4 liters na or per liter?

dami nga mga dagdag na i think di ko pa naman kelangan...like mga flushing and engine detailing..

pwede ba ko bumalik sa regular oil since twice nako nagpasynthetic mula pa nung 1k kms...puro city driving lang din naman ako so i think nasasayang lang sakin yung synthetic..

Regular toyota motor oil just costs around 155 petot per liter bro. so its around 600+ for the 4 liters. ganyan kalaki ang price difference ng synthetic vs regular.

the basic procedures may be the same, but the borloloys that accompany them vary, depending on capacity to pay, to resistance to salestalk, to ignorance of the automobile. the knowledgeable tend to spend more on the essentials and less on the borloloys. for example, i am not that knowledgeable and i personally do not want to spend more for synthetic oil, engine flush, fuel treatment, manicure and pedicure, kape lang at diaryo in an airconditioned room, ok nako.

so is it possible na sabihin ko wag na mga engine flushing at fuel treatment?pati labor ba bababa kung sakali di ko sinama yun?i think di ko naman kelangan ng mga engine flushing or fuel treatment e...

iniisip ko nga sa mga gas station nalang ako magpa 10k pms since palagay ko di naman masisira yung makina para habulin ko yung 3 years warranty

on another topic, yung factory installed ba na spark plugs ng Dual VVT-i natin ay Iridium na? or just the regular ones?

if they didn't change the spark plugs at 10k pms, baka iridium yan. just a guess though
