Potenza RE002 for 5.2k only?! WOW. 205/55 R16 'to diba? Sobrang mura ng kuha mo niyan sir. Kalevel niyan mga Yokohama S.Drive eh (that's 2 classes higher than the A.Drive that it's priced against).

    Saang shop yan sir?

How about Michelins kaya for the 16-inchers?

^16 months at how many kms? What's the threadwear rating of the Dunlops? Given that its a sport oriented tire, it should have a softer compound which would wear out faster than the all-around A-drives.

My cousin from the US gave me this neat little digital tire gauge which can also measure tire depth.

Hi guys, I'm in need of more ideas. Just got my struts replaced by Toyocars. The problem of stiff suspension("thud" sound) was resolved. Although the squeaking noise(metal to metal) on humps is still there. Wala na maisip na problema yung mekaniko dahil napalitan na namin most of the suspension parts (ball joints, stabilizer link, struts). Your opinions would be highly appreciated. Thanks!

i just arrived manila-leyte after getting my altis 1.6v matic at toyota bicutan. FC is 11 kms/liter, traveresed slex, san pablo to bicol and ferry crossing to samar then tacloban. There's nothing more i can say about the altis, engine response is quite good, comfortable to drive...its my first time driving solo for almost 1,000 kilometers with just a brief stopover at camsur

Nice. 1000Km in one snap eh.

Where do you bring the car for service over at Leyte?

    Guys,

can you share some insights on the use of the bluetooth handsfree feature of the altis. Does it have voice controls when dialling or answering a call?

Jut, I guess it's best to try both methods (like sa Vios & FD) para makita mo na rin which of the two will work. Hopefully though, meron.

First try what I did sa Vios. I did it 4x, ON but not the engine. Wait for the dash lights to go off, then press.. Pagabot sa dulo, bitaw. Then off the engine, 5 seconds, ON again but not the engine then do the same for 3x pa

Not sure how many sets is needed for the fd

Sa Vios kasi the difference was noticeable. Sa FD naman I got used to it already so there's no need for me to let the car undergo a relearning process.

Mali pala yung ginawa ko hahahaha. I pressed the ignition button twice (equivalent of ON mode sa susi), then gradually stepped on the accelerator hanggang dulo. Then stinart ko yung makina.

I re-tried the suggested accelerator calibration using the same technique renzo did.

And maybe the fact that the car is an automatic limits the amount of throttle control I get since computer-controlled pa rin yung clutch.

Response on mine through the first half of the pedal is also slower but it's not much of a problem as my car is a manual so working the gears keeps me at a good pace. Toyota tunes it this way to favor economy. In the old days, tightening the throttle cable would cure that. :D

Update on FC. 80% city driving, 20% highway (running 110-130kph). 11.42km/L; loaded up at Petron Clark... P 47.75/L

I was feeling a bit sluggish on the car the past week and when i checked tire pressure, i was down to 31/30psi. I aired up to my usual 34psi on all four wheels and the car ran the way i prefer it to (a little lighter with more road feel).

My FC is now down to 6.9-7 km/L, from 7.3-7.4 km/L previously. I can attest it to the driving conditions, since my average speed fell from 17 km/h to 15 km/h, says the MID.

I'm thinking of an ECU reset just to see if it makes any difference. Good or bad idea?

Walang safety features whatsoever. 1.6L 3ZZ-FE yung makina niyan, 116 HP.

Kung 9th gen Altis ang hanap mo, mag 1.6E ka nalang kung MT (nasa 380k) or 1.6G kung AT (nasa 420k).
Kung 10th gen Altis naman, may 1.6E MT na nasa 470k.

2006 tapos 420k? Kalokohan na yan. 2006 na 1.8G nga nasa 445k lang eh. Pwede pa tawaran.

And like I said, don't bother with the 1.6S. 1.6E or better nalang. There is nothing sporty about the 1.6S - untweaked suspension, same brakes, same engine. Gulong lang at grille at yung red paint. Ang ricey nga ng dating eh.

I'd like to ask you guys if any of you have a schedule of stuff to be done every PMS? Its seems the manual doesnt have this anymore, or maybe I have overlooked it.

I remember the previous PMS at TAI, the Service Advisor (at the Quick Service reception) told me they only remind the customer of the recommended duties to be done to their car or if there's anything else you like to be done then you go to the regular Service area. I'm almost due for 20k kms, aircon cleaning is up and change the air cleaner element as well.
