Ive seen some produces black smoke during acceleration even in new model.

i think its not anymore the diesel fuel that cause the choking problem of d4d/s engine but the engine design itself. If you are going to sum up all the owners of d4d's most them will tell this problem. I hate to say this but the d4d is the reincarnation of 4jx1 of trooper.

At first i thought dahil lang sa maduming air filter that causes black smoke kaya pinahanginan ko para matangal ang dumi pero after i road test it hindi nawala ang usok. I'm having my 20k PMS next week kaya isasabay ko na din patingnan yung usok na lumalabas, sana nga yun lang ang problem, anyway nainquire ko na din sa casa yung problem ko at sabi nila kung EGR lang daw e madali gawin yun.

Yup I thought about that too. Why take the risk on an expensive purchase nga naman. I'm also considering an X-Trail as another choice to the Hilux. Isip ko lang gas-fed sya, baka sobrang gastos. But with the gas consumption aside I heard the X-Trail is a very reliable car. I haven't heard any major complaints about it too.

Our family business has maybe a dozen innovas. My service unit experienced choking problems during the warranty period, pero di lumabas ang sakit nung pinasok ko. It came back post warranty (2005 unit), reset ECU lang ok na. Now, the service unit of my cousin, 2005 unit, is experiencing the choking problem. Idling wont hold, namamatay. Change filter, reset ECU. Ganun pa rin. Now, the request by casa is to replace the supply pump, estimated amount 60K, at wala pang stock! Mileage is at 43K. Dito kasi sa akin dumadating ang mga repair request ng company vehicles namin.

The casa offered to replace the fuel pump at 50% discount. OK na lang, its out of warranty na kasi.

sa akin naman 3.0Ld4d its now on its 40k plus mileage,,i was having problems like check engine warning lights comming out on long full throttle runs,,,ginagawa ko is turn the ignition switch off and start again pero sometimes kahit wala na yun check engine,,ayaw pa rin tumulin parang nka safe mode lang yun takbo,,mabagal na walang arankada...na experience ko once is yung total shutdown ..pero umandar naman kaagad pag ni restart...sabi ng isang taga toyota total recall daw dapat yan and dapat lahat ng toyota branches all ove the philippines must see to it na maging satisfied yun customer,,,kahit ilang years pa tinakbo basta with in the engines warranty range..problema gingawang negosyo ng ibang tga toyota,,,kung wala kang alam mapipilitan kang bumili tpos yun old supply pump mo kukunin nila para ma justify na may pinalitan sila ng libre kaso kawawa yun consumer kasi pinag bayad,, dapat nga e report yan sa consumers welfare kasi we are buying a vehicle that would serve our purpose with our hard end money tapos eto yun sasakyan na bingay sa atin ,,ayaw pa tayo tulungan sa mga problema natin gusto pa hold upin tyo ..ayaw nalang e recall lahat at palitan aantayin nila na masiraan ka tpos tignana pag lumampas ng 3 years kahit wala pang isang daan tinakbo..wala na,,bili kna ng supply pump na pagka mahal...toyotad4d talaga

nakaregister ka din ba sa toyota diesel? Am i right, if iam not mistaken, may mga power add ons ka sa engine to make your Fort run faster? like chiptuning? 'Di kaya ito source ng problem ng fort mo kung if you are the same lytspeed sa toyota diesel.

i am reading your entries sa forum ng toyota diesel. I am also interested sa chiptuning kaso my ride is innova.

I suffered the choking problem sa innova at 5,000 km ko. They replaced the pump and common rail. So far 50,000Km na wala naman problem. I just installed alcohol water injection and ang ganda ng takbo. I also installed eibach lowering springs, macho looking na kasi it is lower than the others by 1.5 inches. sad to say ibebenta ko na siya.

Makapal talaga mukha ng Toyota, I suspect hindi alam ng big boss nila na hapon ang problem sa D4D engine. They never let me talk to him. Anyway, everything will comeback to them if they are not treating us right.

The different toyota d4d clubs in the philippines are too quiet for toyota to hear the problems. Hopefully one day they will realize the kind of marketing they are giving us. Hopefully it's not late for them.

yup, ako un nasa toyota diesel..and yes i do have some power add ons,,but it is not the the culprit to the problem,,its the poor quality of their supply pump,and even with out any power add ons,it will still succumb to this problem..their faulty supply pump...other 3.0L with out any power add ons develop a problem like i have with my fort,all the symptoms of a problematic supply pump are clear and evidential , toyota motor service center here are just trying to cash in large amount of money,by letting the users pay for the supply pump when it should be given free of charge regardless of how many years of usage as long as it is still under warranty..engine warranty ...toyota would only change the supply pump if it is under three years old..imagine ,,they could only give three year warranty on a million peso vehicle regardless of your mileage isnt that a hold up?..it should be a total recall on all their d4d ,,now im beggining to wander if the arabs are really right that toyota is trying to build a throw away egnine thats only good for a few years so that youll buy another one...wheres our consumer protection program if there is one.....

anyway, have you heard about the diesel central (bosch diesel center)? The shop is located near Capitol Medical Center. MAy mga entries dito sa tsikot about the problematic solenoid of the fuel pump of our D4D. The tsikot name of the mechanic is dieseldude. If ever hindi pa ayos ang problem ng Fort mo, give it a try, call their shop, baka sakali.

well in my part i never experienced any problem yet with my D4D innovaG i bought it last May 21, 2009, now ODO at 7k still performing good kahit nakarami na kaming long distances road trips..
