so push the central unlock button. "the practice is not fatal."
personally, i find it potentially dangerous, when the doors unlock when i turn off my engine.
we don't know the conditions around us, everytime the engine stops.
when i turn off my older car's engine during very long traffic waits, the first thing i hear is the doorlocks opening. the next thing i hear, is the re-locking of the doorlocks, as i push the central lock button.

when i open my driverside door (toyota, non-fortuner), using its own lock/unlock lever and not the central lock/unlock button, only that door unlocks. the other doors remain locked.
i do this whenever i have to go out and open my entrance gate at night. i find it safer, than if all the doors were to unlock.
^ makes a lot of sense, this is a very good practice

How do you put the 6 speed MT into reverse gear? I don't find any lever or button to have it engaged like the other cars with 6speed transmission
Thanks
Push the stick down first then thug it to the left

Sa mga naka AT, when you put the shifter to S mode when the car in standstill, nasaan ang gear? Yung sa akin nasa S4 kahit nakahinto, yung sa Mazda 3 ko kasi, pagnakahinto ang car, nasa M1, sa fortuner nasa S4 na agad...weird.

The tranny's manner has been mentioned in Carguide's review for the Fortuner but there is no logical explanation why Toyota made it behave like that.
