Malayo sa last gen civic. Sumisipa naman ang civic. Nagulat talaga ako bakit ganun.

Although yung sinasabing cheap interior, for me ayos lang yun. Bearable naman

Had my Vitara's 5K PMS yesterday. Went to Suzuki Sta. Rosa, cost me 2,100 pesos for the change oil (oil + filter) and the supplies.

The service was much better there than at Alabang. I was originally scheduled for 10am, but I ran late and sent a message to move me to an 11am schedule. No problem with them. I arrived around 11:20, they accommodated still, receiving me and doing the checklist before lunch break. Actual work was moved to 1pm following lunch break.

PMS took a couple of hours. Oil change was done within an hour; the additional wait was due to the line of vehicles getting washed before release (something which I should've opted out of). It helped that I came in on a weekday, but this was still fast given my experience with my previous car. For comparison, oil change took the entire day at Alabang. The service center at Sta. Rosa is Suzuki-only; Alabang's service center is shared with Mitsubushi Alabang's, probably explaining why you have to wait longer there.

I ended up at Sta. Rosa after asking a few other dealers for a cost estimate. Binan's estimate was a little cheaper, but I chose Sta. Rosa because Nuvali was nearby (allowing me to have lunch there; I don't think there are options around Suzuki Binan). I also asked at Manila Bay because I was supposed to run another errand in the MOA area, but they were trying to charge me an extra 800 for engine treatment. I asked to have it removed; they told me it would depend of mileage. Engine treatment isn't needed more so since the 5K PMS is supposed to be just light service.

Sta. Rosa initially put in a 200 charge for wiper washer fluid but asked me about it. I told them I had a bottle in the trunk and they quickly removed the charge.

Manual ignition (no push button start)
    Manual aircon
Wheels are steel rims with hubcaps
    No clock on the dash
    No cruise control
Black door handles and side mirrors
No turn signals on the side mirrors
No center arm rest in the back seat
    No roof rails
    No foglamps
    Donut spare tire
Touch screen HU but not Android (i think)

I didn't notice though kung meron o wala mga 'to:

    Rear wiper
    Rear defogger
    Rear 12V socket
    Rear disc brakes

    Price diff is 75k (913k vs 988k)

Suzuki Sta. Rosa had a GL variant on display yesterday and took a look while I had my Vitara's PMS. There are significant differences, see below:

    Good things of note:
    - Still dual airbags (GL+ has dual airbags)
    - Steering wheel still has controls for volume/mute/headunit mode
    - Same Continental wheels as higher variants
    - Same headunit as GL+

    Things removed/downgraded:
    - No cruise control/speed limiter
    - No paddle shifters
    - No automatic climate control (manual aircon for GL)
    - No push start system
    - No smart entry (no lock/unlock using button on door panel as long as you have key fob on you)
    - No front fog lamps
    - No backing sensors
    - Cheaper wheel rims (steel)
    - Different front fascia
    - And... no analog clock on the dash!

    ---

One thing I noticed on the display unit was that the doors closed better than with my Vitara.

On the other things, there's a rear wiper, rear defogger, and the rear wheels have disc brakes. I didn't see whether the trunk has a 12V socket.

    The Vitara 1.6 6AT does 0-100 in ~11.6 seconds:

    https://youtu.be/y5AmTOQzObY

That's comparable to a Mobilio, or even a 2.8L Fortuner and 3.2L Everest.

Very long 3rd gear though so it would feel slow as compared to a CVT which is always at the peak powerband (hence the droning sound).

I guess it would not even measure up to the ES and EK Civics with their 1.5L or 1.6L engines. The R18 engine used on the Civic FD/FB/FC offer decent performance compared to other compacts or subcompacts with a 1.5L or 1.6L engine.

No. 1.6. Same specs as the one tested.

A Fortuner/Everest only feels fast because they're torquey so babaon ka sa upuan. Feels fast does not equal to goes fast.

Topgear PH's feature noted the same thing, that the acceleration isn't punchy enough.

Maybe it's the hill start assist that's holding back acceleration? I've noticed that the hill start assist seems to kick in at the slightest incline.

The MirrorLink website says that the S7 is supported. (see this link)

After turning on developer options on the phones, also make sure that you open the phone link page on the headunit menu. After doing both, the Note 3 that I used connected and started screen sharing already.

Nope, it's not the hill start assist. You can't expect too much performance from what the engine can deliver. The same can be said of the Ecosport and BRV which has powerplants that makes about the same output.

If only they put small turbo engines on such vehicles, they will get a bit quicker.

Between this and a crosswind sportivo, alin ang mas makupad sa dalawa? 🤔

    it's all relative.
"makupad lang naman siya, dahil gusto ng driver na mas mabilis pa..."
    my thoughts.

I guess the Vitara would be quicker off the line against the Sportivo or Adventure.

Right on, Doc. If you wanted a quick ride, look somewhere else. I guess the XV, CX3, HRV, and Trax are the only small crossovers that offer a good amount of power on tap.

Yeah. I know marami pa naman na mas mahal na choices. Pero nagulat lang ako sa test drive ko, I'm expecting na same performance sya sa mga brv, and likes. Or vios and likes. Kaso hindi. Kaya I'm sharing it here

Oh yun naman pala eh haha. Parang iba kasi kahulugan pag sinabing makupad sir. I believe kasi na mas applicable yung term na makupad sa mga diesel.

It might be how the gearing was set-up. If fuel efficiency was a key consideration in the design, a slower and gradual approach in acceleration might have been adapted.
