    Amok? 🤪 joke.

Pero it would be better to inform their heads about this wrong practice... they are not just destroying their reputation to deliver but also the trust of its customers... they just cannot say na in two weeks just to make customer satisfied kahit alam nila by batch nila gagawin... they should do something about it... kawawa yung lto kasi dila yung laging nasisira bakit delay pero alam naman natin na may contribution din sila sa delay... haaha

On March 23, already one month after I purchased the unit, I followed up for the nth time only to be told that registration docs were given to LTO only on MARCH 21- almost one month after I purchased the unit.

They said they'll give me the ORCR within 3-4 weeks. Eh yun pala, saka pa lang nila ibibigay sa LTO. Going on 6 weeks and still no ORCR. I don't want to use it naman on public roads without papers.
Mine took about six weeks, also bought at Suzuki Alabang. Inabot daw kasi ng Christmas holidays and ang dami daw kasi bumili ng sasakyan nung December. Can't deny that the practice of doing sending the new car data for registration by batch still applies as it took two weeks before LTO received my car data.

    Just to share:

Got our unit last March 22 (Thursday)

And today, I received a text from my SA that our OR/CR is already available. Pretty fast considering the holiday schedule (holy week) last week.

    To explain I think...

The dealerships likely batch the registrations by volume, say -- every 10-20 cars that are registered, they send one liason to the LTO. I don't think the dealer would find it economical to send one guy to the LTO just for one car registration.

For a dealership with many sales (brand T, H, M, etc), this may be once every week. For brands that don't really see a lot of sales, baka mapatagal...

more sales volume across all models for a dealership means more documents to process, requires more time to complete

Wala din kasing law na nagrerequire sa dealership na once you bought the unit that day, iproprocess na yung registration kaya siguro may na dedelay may napapa aga ang release ng or/cr kasi it’s up to them kung kelan nila iproprocess at sa lto naman alam na natin kalakaran nila... kaya lalong tumatagal...

I tried riding the Vitara earlier today. I really wanted to like this car since it looks the most well-proportioned compared to the other ~1M subcompact CUVs (Ecosport and Juke), but I've come to conclude that these cars are really built with cost in mind and it really shows in the interior finish of the Vitara.

The hard plastic on the dash and top part of the doors looks really cheap (it's a shiny black rough texture). And the doors feel tinny even when compared to the Juke and Ecosport which aren't really bastions of solidity themselves.

Car buyers looking for a 5-seater in the 1M price range will really have to choose between a well-built compact or a compromised subcompact CUV with a ride height advantage. I would choose the sedan anytime, but I can imagine that some people aren't too particular with space or build quality so they will be drawn to one of these instead.

Guilty of this sir jut... kasi i like the height advantage of eco than sedan... [emoji16] kaya if ever papalitan ko ang eco yung may height advantage plus maluwag na interior space... the. Next upgrade maybe height advantage, maluwag and im still thinking para may excuse mag upgrade... hahaha

Overall I think it does give very good value for first time car buyers considering that compact sedan prices are going up as well.

Though once you have tried vehicles with better interiors you start to get picky.

I wouldn't call it compromised. Feature wise it beats similarly priced cars. Sure, it feels cheap, but you get a lot for just a little over 1 million pesos.

I turned it on already. Maybe the problem is that I did not bring my cable when I tried it.

    Will try again today.....thanks.

It really depends on what you look for in a car. I would agree that most first time buyers will see great value with the Vitara since it's feature packed and it's an "SUV".

But you're also right in saying that you get picky once you've tried different cars. I've driven a whole range of cars from cute little Picantos to high-end Lexuses, and for me the Vitara falls in the bottom of the range when it comes to interior finish.

A more relevant comparison would be other cars in the 1M price range. For starters, the Vitara's interior is nowhere near that of the Civic or Mazda 3. Even among its subcompact CUV rivals, I'd say the Juke feels more upscale inside. I'd go as far as saying that subcompact cars like the City and Mazda 2 also have better interiors and finish. For sure, the City's doors close with a much more solid thud than the Vitara.

That said, if I really had to buy a subcompact CUV, the Vitara would still be my top pick. It looks good from outside (while I find the Ecosport and Juke quirky), plus it has a pretty good feature set and commendable FC.

I say it's compromised because I'm coming from the vantage point that this price range was previously the exclusive realm of compact cars. Subcompact CUVs came, but at a cost, namely:

    - Less space (even more cramped than a City)
    - Poorer handling (because of the higher ride height)
    - Less comfortable ride (because of the non-independent rear suspension and shorter wheelbase)
    - Inferior build quality (tinny door close, very little soft-touch plastics)
    - Less power (more weight but same engines as subcompacts, though at least the Vitara is an improvement because it's much lighter than other small CUVs)
    - Cheaper interior finish (no subcompact CUV even comes with a center armrest! [emoji35])

All of that for a few inches of ride height.

The nice thing about the Vitara is that even if it suffers all the fundamental problems with subcompact CUVs, it's fully loaded when you look at the paper specs - moon roof, climate control, cruise control, LED headlamps, rain-sensing wipers, push button ignition, a huge touch screen head unit, 6 airbags, traction control, parking camera and sensors, leather steering wheel, paddle shifters, power folding mirrors, and so on.

Which is why the Vitara is my top pick among the subcompact CUVs, like I said above.
