    hi sir clippers,

seems everything is in order but im not sure regarding the oil that your casa is being used.. is it mineral?

upon my 10,000kms - i was similarly with your fuel consumption numbers, I have changed to fully synthetic 5w30 then my fuel consumption just went better from 7-8kms/liter to 9-10kms per liter.. we have the same road-traffic condition where 20-30% city and the rest is highway driving.

I don't have a RPM but I'm estimating I change gears less than 3,000RPM. I rarely get the engine roaring... does your driver do that some time?

If you have time sir siguro best is we could meet if you're in the area so you can test drive my APV and so we can compare?

most of our APV users experience this high FC when the vehicle is new up to 10-15thousand kilometers... after then FC gets better. average of 8 to 10kms/liter.

Mine is a 2009 SGX A/T. 34,500 km na sa odometer. Since 3 years/100,000 km naman ang warranty, sasagutin naman ng Suzuki yung problem na ito diba? 2nd time na ako nag warranty claim. First was a defect with the steering column. May knock ako naririnig pag dumadaan ng lubak. That was around 10,000 km at the odometer.

My mom is driving a 2008 Type 1 GLX A/T. So far wala naman problems. Mas laspag ng konti ang APV ko though since siya 3 years na pero 32,000 km palang pero ako in 2 years 34,500 na.

    Thanks!

sir moonbeamTURBO we got the same problem with our APV,mine has a streering knock too! pag na lulubak tug-tug sabi ng dealer ko steering column daw sabi nila they have to make a report for that kc meron padin po akong ibang problem sa "wiper motor and rear view camera ko saka pag na lulubak ung rear part ng APV may tug-tug-tug sound din,ano po kaya un?? saka sa may left side parang may bakal na nag-hahampasan! pero sa ride soft and smooth compare to are 2004 mitsubishi adventure, speed? more speeeeeedddyyy than adventure, torque? enough to haul 13person on board..sa umpisa pangit sya maingay makina pag 4000rpm na pero after change oil ok na ok na engine sound..............slow compare to starex, speedy compare to adventure, sips more gas compare to honda city..kotse kc un hahaha with newer tech.

    Sir Oli Gud AM..

Thanks for your advice and info, I try to change oil to fully synthetic 5w30..for the next PMS, hoping my FC getting better.. I love this car..boss OLI,,, kahit di ko nakuha yong FC dito sa threads na nabasa ko sa ibang apv.. Isipin ko nalang na sa driving habit ko talaga to kaya FC ko medyo mataas, Actually i have 3 cars, pero favorite ko tong APV gamitin... lalo na sa gabi magbiyahe napakaliwanag yong ilaw..I'm very comfortable with the ride..na e-enjoy ko yong pag drive ko, kc may hatak talaga pagkailangan mo yong power nya. nadiyan lang, kayang kaya niya ibigay para sa driver satisfaction....

its possible sir clipper.. try for a lighter foot

ako kasi most of the time when starting from a stoplight.. most of the vehicles with me are the first to go out.. i dont really rev my engine... most especially when alam ko na may next stop light pa... dadating din naman ako sa target location ko with not being late or anything..

also i coast pag pa-baba ang kalsada.. it really helps save gas.

hope to see you sir on club suzuki philiippines eb-s

Finally got my apv out of the shop yesterday after two weeks and it was dirty!
Full of stains especially in the interior. Got it car wash for 115.00 Php.

The shop replaced all the bearings in the differential gear assembly and axle.

The shop done already what they can do to fix the noise but sadly it was still there.
Not that loud anymore according to them but I have not tested it for I hardly get above
40 kph in city driving. Well at least it's not the transmission making the noise.
Will try to post what I may observe this weekend.

    Just sharing, thank you.

The shop said that they had to pull down the assembly four times?
1.) Change the axle bearings at first but the humming sound was still noticed.
2.) Replaced all the bearings in the carrier and humming was reduced but still
    noticed.
3.) Put brass shims to minimize the play between the pinion and ring gear
but they heard a squeaking sound for few seconds at first test run besides
reducing the humming to twenty percent. That's what they said.
4.) They put spacer now and according to them, the spider gear axle was
making the noise. The problem now is that, their is no parts available.
I thought it was the pinion and ring gear because that's the part that usually
rotates. I called up Suzuki parts and the gear set ( pinon & ring gear only)
    cost 37K Php plus.

They said if I found the spider gear axle parts, they will install it free for me.
That is if I plan to replace it in the future.

Anyway, It was very nice getting my apv back again. My kids like it very much!
They thought I sold the car already because it was gone for two weeks.

Just want to share what happened, thank you.

    Additional pictures;

The shop send the axle bearings to the machine shop for cutting to remove it.

Yes sir, these are all the bearings in the rear axle differential carrier assembly and
the gears in the carrier assembly are only half submerged in oil. I think the bearings
are also lubricated by the gear oil inside but not submerged.

Got the apv aligned again the second time because I got the rack & pinion assembly
replaced this October 29, 2012. The Suzuki service center said that they just estimated
the alignment with a string because they don't have the device/ machine?

yup.. they use a string for just an estimate of the front wheel alignment by using the rear wheels as basis of the alignment in front.. i saw how to do it dati nung may free alignment ako nung bumili ako ng bagong mags/

very useful yan sir.. i was planning as well to get 2. one for the rear and one for the front... one of our Team APV members had one and at the same time caught a jeepney lightly bumping him at the rear.. good thing no damage was seen on the bumper. but video was caught clearly the jeepney driver was at fault.

    Dear Ma'am/Sir,
I'm Jay from QC and I had my APV typeII last Oct 2012. I do not know if my concerns were answered on previous threads. I apologize for it. Anyway, just a few concern:
    1. Fuel consumption is around 7km/L, I had the 1k maintenance check already. Is this normal?
    2. Reaching 80km/hr is but hard, I had a chance to drive it at NLEX, no problem getting to 100-120km/hr but I noticed that my RPM reached 3000 already even if im just running 80km/hr. When I got to 100km, my rpm is already at 4000. Is this also normal? The normal thing is 2500 RPM to reach 80km/hr. most of the time im at 5th gear, 2000RPM and it is just running at 60km/hr.

I hope somebody can shed light to my queries. Thank you.
    All the best.

    Hi Ma'am/SIrs,
I just acquired typeII glx manual APV last Oct. I have some concerns and I hope you can direct me or the least send my concerns to the proper forum. Anyways, here are some concerns I noticed with our APV:
    1. Fuel consumption even after the 1k maintenance is still 6-7km/L. Is this normal? two passengers city driving.
    2. I usually shift gears at 2k RPM, I noticed that in order for me to reach 100km/hr, I have to have 4k RPM. Here's the breakdown of it, 5th gear at around 2200 RPM, just 65km/hr. 2500 RPM= 70km/hr. Am I missing something here?

    All the best!

    Thank you.

    Jay

One more thing, I'm almost near the next change oil/casa visit. Any pertinent questions that I can ask the mechanic? regarding fuel consumption? Ive been reading or rather seeing thread about adjusting tappets? is it related to fuel consumption? Thank you!
