Like Radiator Fan / Auxiliary Fan / Dashboard Clock etc.

I have a 2009 Type 1 APV - nothing broken as of yet. daily drive currently reaching its 50,000 kilometer reading.. regarding the aux fan - I have heard number of issues that either the fan is noisy, or others not working.. but still a small percentage, also, its normal for it to loose its power.. (wear and tear - ika nga..) but mine is still working with no issues.. Dashboard clock? actually the issue with that one is its powered by a separate button battery and it can be easily removed..

    2. Sa mga nabasa ko din po. Mukang pahirapan ang parts. Baka pwede po ninyo i share yung waiting time ninyo sa parts na kinailangan palitan (Example: Radiator Fan - 3 Months Waiting Time Casa - No Parts Outside Casa).

After my 1st PMS sa CASA.. i already stopped going there for its PMS schedule.. changed to my suking talyer for my every 10k change oil.. as far as I know.. if the part is not available, they can have it shipped or produced within 2 weeks to 3 months.. depending on the part. (this involves all suzuki models).. but anything in particular with the APV.. none yet. But since the APV has an old G16A engine.. parts are readily available outside CASA with much cheaper price.

If you have a brand new APV.. then the answer is yes... after your 2nd to 3rd change oil.. the engine should be broken in by that time and seals and gaps should be more easy for the engine to move.. when I got the APV i was running 6 to 8 kilometers/liter.. but now im playing around 10 to 11 on mixed city and highway driving.. average of the APV members play around 9 to 10 kms/li on city driving.. except AT transmissions.. around 7 to 9 kms/li

didnt cross my mind. but i would sure like a electric/hybrid car for a daily drive home-work-home etc... just being more specific...

even im a APV owner.. i can "personally" say that it depends on what you need. if you need space up to the third row? then I'll go with the APV.. I have big friends that always ride with me on long trips and they are very comfy in the last row seats.. which is one of the purpose of having a midsized- to large vehicle..

durability? i believe that all isuzu parts are very durable.. as compared from an APV.. but durability as well comes with a price din naman.. but definitely very durable piece of machinery.
    olidotcom

Salamat sa reply very helpfull.... plus points for APV sa akin.

To be honest, first choice ko talaga APV on top of innova at tucson.

But again concern ko nga yung durability.

My first car was a 1.6 Nissan Sentra (1993) then Isuzu Corsswinds (2003) so ngayon 2012 - 2013 balak ko na magpalit.

Very very very satisfied po ako sa durability / performance / FC.

Over Over Over Overpriced !!!

Ang mga option ko po ay:

    1. 2012 Toyota Innova 2.5G MT
    2. 2011 Hyundai Tucson Theta II Engine MT
    3. APV Type 2 MT or AT

    Tanong lang po.

Like Radiator Fan / Auxiliary Fan / Dashboard Clock etc.

Type does not have dash clock anymore.
I myself experience a whining sound on the fan. But manage to fix it by myself by tightehing the bolt on the fan. On the side, ive also heard vios dual speed fan gets busted prematurely. 3 years two years,
As of now 2008 type 2 GLX model, wala panaman extraordinary na nasisira

Sa brakes; sa sulit meron Rspec tatak. Pads and shoes. Sa timing belt ive heard they use sa civic. (Belt only) sa oil and air filter may replacement. Sa suspension ive never heard any existing replacement. Equivalent baka meron. Mga cosmetic parts like headlights etc. am not sure, pero mukhang meron naman. OEM nga lang.

i consume 8km per liter. secondary road use hardly ever get to the 5th gear

Never naman kaming nagsisi, back 2008 binibigyan pa kami ng good deal with a G diesel innova (Facelift padating na kasi). APVs third row space and second row is a huge difference compared sa mga ka class nya

sa akin kasi a newer car is always better since im the type of guy na more on engine lang focus ng maintenence, but if i still have our 2003 crv, at this time i woudnt mind selling it for the APV

Sana po meron mag share. Salamat po sa inyo in advance.

Try mo din isearch mga post ni Macky dito, he owns early version of the APV and so far siya yung may pinakadokumentadong maintence history

    MAXBUWAYA:

Maraming Salamat sa feedback!!! Very much appreciated!!!

BTW, yung 2012 Toyota Avanza... out na sa akin yun coz i will be giving my daughter that unit for her daily drive when she goes to college this June. I am just awaiting Bank Approval for the unit.

So, I am now contemplating of getting this ride all for my self, wife and my 15 dogs (Toy Poodles) :-)

More Feedback pa po...Hopefully more on the parts na madali masira and availability. OK na ako sa 8 KM/L... all I need to be convinced now is just durability / parts availability / price of parts weather OEM or Replacement.

Yung engine ng APV is the almost the same one used in the Vitara. Madami na siya parts when it comes to consumables and common repair parts. And if you bring the problematic part as your sample (e.g. water pump) it will usually have an equivalent replacement part. Kadalasan pang-Mitsubishi.

I also have a mechanic that works in Pilhino (Suzuki casa). And they moonlight off hours to do home service (e.g. to me since I do not have time during office hours to bring my car to the service place). Memorized na niya ang makina mo. The engine itself is not terribly difficult to work on basta alam ng gumagawa ang ginagawa niya.

    * Doc Otep... regarding your buddy that works with PhilHino... can I ask for assistance as well? I need some tappet adjustments for my APV Type 1, and maybe to have the belts checked na rin for pre-maintenance.

    Thank you!

Hi! I had no idea about speed ratings before, ngayon ko lang nalaman yun.

Stock Tires: Bridgestone Techno 248 185/80R14 91S -- Recommended load at door jamb, recommended speed rating (180 km/h)
Replacement Tires: Kumho Radial 857 185R14C 108Q -- Higher load index, lower speed rating (160 km/h)

How about yung handling at highway speeds?

Other observations after tire change: Less road noise, better ride
Fuel consumption is still the same. Acceleration was a bit slow during the first few weeks but now okay na din.

    Thanks!

right.. better be safe than sorry i would say... better change those thin worn tires sir.

as far as i know regarding the tire specs that you have (kumho) ok na din yung replacement since you are still within speed limits and better load handling of the tires.

i recently changed my steelies to 17s with westlake tires 50 series and got the same but more "quiet" ride.. big reduction din on that "umuuga" pag naka park then a big truck or van passes you by and makes your whole vehicle move because of the wind.

Thanks sir!

Medyo natakot ako sa date ng tire dahil nakalagay "1807" which means gulong niya ginawa 18th week of 2007.

Tapos what is the difference of laden and unladen tire pressures?

Laden pressure is the tp when the unit is fully loaded. Unladen tp is used when the vehicle is not filled to capacity.

Thanks sir! I changed the tire pressure to 32 front and 40 rear with aftermarket tires (Recommended for stock tires: 29 F/35 R unladen, 32 F/44 R laden). So far I'm experiencing better gas mileage.

Last week ayos pa eh. I'll try to bring my car to Suzuki hopefully next week if I have time. Mukhang actuator ang sira or yung power door lock mechanism.

Need to replace our tires ( Original pa since 2005) since manipis na. We tried using 17s dati but it was too heavy and matagtag...went back to original to avoid damaging suspension. Now we are thinking of replacing again the rims to at least 15s and para naman may konting porma. Any recommendation what brand of tires we can use and where we can get a good deal on Magwheels. Most of the time city driving lang (coming from Skyway) and at least once a year of out of town.

you can try ROTA or.. if you prefer a softer ride.. try those original mags from importers from japan... (second hand)

I was told that those mags are quite softer so it will be a better ride for your van.

im on 17s right now.. PDW mags with westlate 50 series 215 tires.. definitely a softer and more quiet ride compared from my old steel rims.

Thanks olidotcom, I might go for ROTA. Brand new na since I do not know how to test if ok pa ang second hand. What about the tire brand? Not sure between bridgestone and goodyear tires....
