of course parts are readily available for the van. the apv both gen 1 and gen2 have only the same engine - g16a of the vitara. yes sir this is a good buy esp for a growing family. the price is right, the engine pulls enough power for 8 people sitting aboard, and you can convert it to a suv! (sport utility van!)
Salamat sir for the response, but i was reading this thread from start to end and may issue pala regarding sa car battery nya? you could only get the battery from suzuki? and it costs 8 to 9k?? and mahal naman... wala ba available na battery for apv from motolite? especially yung mga maintenance free? I fell inlove with the looks of the APV pero mukhang na pa isip ako sa mahal ng battery nya tapos de-tubig pa!

Battery is Small post with reverse polarity

Yes, it can be quite tricky to find one. That is if you stick to Mainstream Brand.

Both our vehicles are equipped with these kind of Batteries. I Just bought GS Brand Battery. Which Lasted 2 years and 3 months and three times lang ako naglagay ng tubig. P2400 lang

you would be insane to buy stuff from delaership'
    like batteries tires accesories. hehehehe

sir max, what does negative polarity mean? hindi ba sya yung regular car battery? like motolite? i checked out the motolite website and meron sila battery for APV the model is NS60 but not sure if this would really be compatible.

    Reverse polarity
pag nakapahaba ang battery sa harap mo yung positive nasa upper right side.

Regarding sa apv Mukhang hindi na kailagan ang reverse polarity dahil mahaba naman ang wire nuong terminals, mukhang kaya itawid hanggang kabila

Yung issue ko by the way is with the jimny. which sakto lang ang wires for terminals

    Hello Everyone,

Well I guess it's been a week since I last updated this thread. This past one week has just been a blast for me. I took the whole week off for a vacation to focus my energy on buying my perfect first car. I learned a lot from this experience, getting the best bargains, speaking to different agents, etc. I met 4 sales agents from three brands, 2 from suzuki (caloocan and commonwealth) for the APV, one from mitsubishi marcos highway for the Lancer, and one from toyota makati for the vios.

At this point I can't really say I made the perfect decision. But I sure feel my decision was approximately right. I am still waiting 'til Tuesday for the car's Release but I paid down payment today. Guess where I ended up buying?

    Suzuki Caloocan.

NO. It's not because of some fancy calculations I came up with. Why I went back to where I started, my original sales rep. NO. There was no formula. I did not find any. You see I was almost decided to buy a mitsubishi, but a sudden twist of fate led me to buying the APV instead.

    What happened?

Daycode and Neophyte contacted me and told me that Neophyte is going for a test drive in Suzuki Caloocan yesterday Friday. We were supposed to leverage the "power of three" in caloocan. When Neophyte asked me last Thursday over phone if I could join the test drive, I told her that I am good with it and excited about it.

All of a sudden, I surprised my original agent with a call telling him that I will visit him. Remember, I already told him before that I don't trust him that much now. But now, I told him I'm back and am decided to buy the APV with three new friends I met in this thread for a great bargain. However, about one hour before the test drive with Neophyte yesterday, Neophyte called me to say that the test drive was canceled. I forgot the reason why since I was half-asleep when we spoke.

But there I was. I made a "promise" to my sales rep that I am back to buy a car from him. I gave him my word already. He just swore that he will give exactly what Suzuki Commonwealth promised to give me. So I thought about it once more. I told myself, hey the guy deserves a break. He's very hardworking and professional. So why not give him the deal?

I went to Suzuki Caloocan at lunch time today. We chatted for about an hour or so and then vwallah we signed the "papers" and then I paid down payment already. The car color wasn't there yet and Monday is a holiday. So I will get my car on Tuesday pa.

Yeah, I didn't get the free umbrella and the ballpens and memo pads and all that stuffs. But didn't I tell you guys how excited I am already to buy? Ganito kasi ako, pag gusto ko na, hindi na ako makatulog. I will not go back to work on Tuesday without my brand new car!! So para tapusin na to, binili ko na yung kotse.

(As a consolation, he did say that in December he can get me a free Suzuki Shirt even weeks after I got my car, if their office's plan materializes. I can only hope.)

And hey, I gotta move on with my life already. This car is my gift for myself on my 28th birthday this month of December.

Again, sorry if I can't give that much "technical" advise for the new buyers. As I said I trusted my gut feel this time. It just felt right and so I went for it. And I'm not sure that will work for everyone.

BTW, I am now (or on Tuesday) officially entitled to join your club? I am excited for everyone to meet me. See you all in one of your EB's.

    Best Regards..

i posted also on other forums to get some feedback regarding suzuki apv... some dude replied with his comment on the apv.

quote "i was able to ride in one. the passenger comfort is terrible. it's built for lesser men (i'm a large person.)" unquote.
maybe this guy is a 6 footer or either he weighs around 200+ pounds. APV is not the car for him probably a grandia or a starex would be better.

gud day, thank you for the answer mercury 724, but most of the previous thread were for the gen 1, i want more info on the type 2 which my family is planning to buy, particularly ther fuel consumption, the agent said that for the manual transmission is aroung 12-14 km/l. any comment for those with type 2. we are also considering the innova j, kindly give me info on its fuel consumption.
regarding the captain's seat, parang mataas konti, medyo nahilo si misis nung testdrive and ngawit yung paa. any comment on this those with captain's seat
testdrive uli ako mamya, yung una kasi first time ko gamit ng automatic, kaya d ko gaano na feel, takot ko baga mabangga ko, pero now nagpraktis na ako. wish me luck

    god bless

dr j , saan ka mag testdrive? will be tst driving one this afternoon sa pasong tamo. Well as for the FC of the gen2 i was told by the agent from suzuki macapagal that the engine is already EFI na so the FC will be much better than the gen1 apv thats what they told me though. for me my choice would be the 8 seater GLX i;m not a fan of the captains seat we used to have a nissan vanette with captains seat, sayang lang ang seating space pag captains seat

testdrive me sa pasong tamo din around 4pm. k naman, natututo na nag me sa automatic kakatestdrive, 10-12km/l daw yung fc ng type 2 at, 12-14km/l naman yung mt. ewan ko lang kung totoo.

hows your testdrive? gusto ko rin yung glx kaso no airbag n abs, kaya consider ko rin yung sgx. the agent offer me the ff pag sa bank financing, free lto less 15t plus freebies tint matting seatcover stepboard visor sensor carrier. insurance and chattel morgage d kasama. pag in house lahat sama n. sayo ano ba offer? galing din ako sa macapagal previous week, trying to compare their offers kung saan mas makakamenos.

Calling all owners of apv type 2 pls share us your experience regarding fc of apv type 2, pls pls pls

dr j, sayang hindi tayo nag pang abot, i was there around 3pm and did a little test drive was out of there around 4pm. The test drive went well i loved the feel and ride of the APV though it was an SGX automatic. I really prefer the GLX, ok lang walang ABS brakes and airbags, wont be running it at high speeds with my family naman.
freebies offered to me is free lto, insurance, tint, seatcover, matting. yun lang. I was kinda disappointed that the agent told me na hindi ko daw pwede palitan yung stereo head unit sa labas kasi void na ang warranty for the whole car and even backup sensor hindi pwede, dapat daw dun parin sa kanila bibili at pakakabit yun. ang sagot ko "mahal naman kasi sobra ang price pag sa inyo ko bibilhin compared sa banawe." then he told me na ganun talaga ang guidelines nila sa warranty. i got the feeling that he's pulling my leg... baka gusto lang nya ako sa kanila bumili.
Well i'll try to drop by sa other suzuki dealers to check out kung ganun nga ba ang guidelines nila sa warranty.
