Suzuki APV [Merged Threads]

Mahal ang cost of maintenance ng Suzuki. Pero yun nga lang as I've mentioned, after 10yrs, it still runs like new.

May Swift pa ako and so far average pa naman ang gastos after a year of ownership. Kahit 1.4L at A/T yun, I'm getting 13kms/l at mixed hiway/city driving. Hopefully, hindi sya kasing gastos ng APV. Next time, mag Toyota na ako hehe.

Kaya siguro mahal dahil wala masyado suppliers ng piyesa outside casa maliban kay Olympia. Law of supply and demand. Common talaga yung fan motor problem. Sa kin pinalitan ko agad once nagsimula tumunog. Nagpalit na rin ako front bearing at stabilizer links after 105,000+ kms. Sulit na rin kasi napakatibay naman ng APV. Yung mga repairs ko kadalasan preventive maintenance.

Baka tama ka. Not much 3rd party substitutes for Zuki part. I actually bought the pair of front bearings for 5K, but haven't mounted them yet. Di pa naman nagpaparamdam ang bearings ko.

Did replaced my front shocks about 3 years back. Each shock cost me 8K, orig part. I tried searching for KYB replacement shocks for Banawe but couldn't get one, as stores tell me its out of stock. I simply ran out of luck and bought the OEM part.

My "shock" came when I saw the KYB stamp on the dismantled shock. Arrrggghhh!

Haven't replaced the rear shocks yet, Paraut ba ang ginamit mo? Also available ba sa Olympia?

good to know na merong thread for the apv... just had mine last january, 2009 sgx a/t * 29k sa odo, got it for less than 300k.

medyo scarce lang ang info sa internet, i tried finding a service manual and nakuha ko lang e yung indonesian version hehehe.

coming from a liteace, nagulat ako sa FC nang unit ko, its * 5km per liter considering na casa maintained with last PMS nung 28.4k sa odo.. until I read a thread here regarding suzuki shaw.. pms included change oil, change spark plugs, change atf...

i did an inspection and removed the protective cover ng ignition coils, i noticed yung black soot (parang pinog uling) sa dalawang coils e hindi man lang nagka finger print, to think na 700kms pa lang from the last PMS. dapat aalisin yung coil para mapalitan spark plugs. tinanggal ko yung mga spark plugs - mukhang 10k kms na tsk tsk tsk... pinalitan ko na lang..

tiningnan ko na rin yung air filter - black na black, mukhang wala ng hangin na dumadaan... pinalitan ko rin, bought one at olympia for 300php..

nag adjust na rin ako ng valve clearances, DIY lang.

right after, improve agad sa FC, naging 7.1kms per liter city driving. medyo acceptable na considering the traffic..

mga napalitan/dinagdag/ginawa ko sa unit since january:
1. spark plugs
2. air filter
3. valve clearance adjustment
4. installed an alarm (medyo inabot ako ng maghapon, pero na-i-tap ko ng maayos sa keyless entry, had to solder 5 wires in the keyless entry pcb, since may KEY FOB yung alarm, apat na tuloy ang susi ng unit ko hehehe)..
5. since naka-tap ako sa keyless entry, nalagyan ko na rin ng door open/close sa panel near the foglight switch.
6. DIY wheel alignment since naka toe out (upod ang gulong mula sa loob)
7. change shoes - got a good deal on a honda fd stock mags and tires na 16s

may konting gastos pa, medyo may tunog na yung front shock sa bushing area, wala bang nabibili na yung bushing support lang sa ibabaw? dapat ba buo ang palit? sa lumang car ko rin kasi na lancer yung upper support pwede mabili sa auto supply.

all in all ok naman at very satisfied sa apv, will test on long drive this holy week.

300 for an air filter??? OEM ba yan? If not what brand is it?

hi straker, dumaan lang ako sa olympia, then sabi ko airfilter ng APV type 2. wala naman akong napansin na difference dun sa nakalagay sa unit ko. suzuki naman yung box nung filter pero naitapon na. mahal ba yung 300 or mura? comparing sa liteace ko dati it costs 450 pero sagana sa filter element yung sa liteace.

anyway, anyone here na familiar sa CO adjustment potentiometer? nakalagay sa service manual na nasa may likod ng glove compartment near the ECM. wala akong makita pero may dalawang 3 prong connectors na naka-hang, iba kasi yung wire color kaya mukhang hindi yun. am thinking baka sa ibang lugar located yung CO adjustment or baka napitik sa casa hehe..

You should've replaced the air filter (if it's old and clogged already). I'm not familiar with APV's engine (if it has got MAF or what) but normally, clogged air filter affects fuel economy.

Perhaps try to clean it. You should feel more power at the lightest depress of the pedal.

If it's the oil wet type, replace it. It's very hard to clean. Try replacing it with dry-type so you can clean it with compressed air from time to time.

A 300 air filter is very low for a OEM part. My contacts usually sell this for 1200. Gotta find time to visit olympia.

Yup, available pa sa Olympia yung KYB rear shocks. Yung front and Paraut.

Kapapalit ko lag din ng air filter last PMS ko at 160k kms. Nasa P800 OEM nya.

Lately inakyat ko sa baguio Apv II ko, with 6 Adults and 3 kids plus bagagge sa likod na halos matakpan na salamin ng bintana sa likod at plus additional baggage sa roof, may roof rack kase sa akin. Wheel chair sa roof at mga additional bags. Sa kennon road pa ako dumaan pa akyat. Kayang kaya, sa ganitong road kailangan lagi ka naka bwelo.

Same here 7 adults one Kid a ton of luggage. No problems at Kenon, still has room to overtake. G16 is really quite impressive!

The P300 air filter is a replacement, not a Suzuki OEM. Natawagan ko ang Olympia kahapon. Will find some time to drop and buy.

Sir 12vdc,san po located ung egr valve ng apv? Hindi po na solve yung shaking nung unit ko.pinalitan na yung ignition system tas na check na kanina fuel pump and injectors.

Its a tube from exhaust going to the intake separated by the egr valve. Nasa backside yata ng makina naka route yung tube while the valve is on the right side near throttle body..
