Or you can use prestone. They mix well with other coolant brands and color.

Tip lang, always check your coolant level since nag eevaporate coolant natin. Hindi siya "sealed/closed" system.

Ah, that explains it -- all the while I was thinking that the Forester had a "sealed/closed" system.

    Thanks!

Really? Have never had to top-up coolant on any vehicle ... some are a decade old already ... yes, we flush and replace every 2-3 years ... but they don't dissipate ...

Yup. If your car is a subaru, then yes we have coolant evaporation. Sad no?

I think it's a double edged sword. You lose old coolant, you top up with new coolant and voila, you get fresh coolant in yoyr system. Wag nga lang maubusan kundi overheat aabutin natin.

Pero iba pa rin talaga coolant flush.

Good for you. With my experience with Nissan, Honda, Ford, and Subaru vehicles, I do top-up my coolant reservoir tank once in a while. I find that gas NA engines do not lose coolant that much compared to turbocharged gas engines.

I think if you fill it past the full mark thats when the excess finds its way out of the system. In my experience, within the low and full mark, they stay that way for a long while before a need to top up

When you change the batteries of the keys, is it just “open, change, close”? Or do you have to do something to re-synch it with the car again?

I’m not sure how long the current batteries have been in the keys so might as well change it.

Not even sure which batteries to use coz the manual lists 2 kinds....

Didn't need to do anything when I changed the batteries on my XV key. I suppose it's the same with the Forester.

    Thanks guys!

I guess more than running out of battery, it's preventing a battery leak that I'm trying to avoid.

Anyone knows where to have my steering wheel centered? Our forester is only about 4 months old. Nung ginagamit ko na medyo na feel ko na hindi naka center yung steering wheel. Sobrang liit lang naman ng bias around 10 degrees to the left. So pag naka straight 0 degrees yun steering wheel medyo nag leleft. Pinasok ko under warranty pina align ko suspension and wheel balance. Hindi naman na ayos ganon pa din. Ive already isolated na hindi sa wheel alignment ang issue kasi pag iniwan ko steering wheel hindi naman siya gumagalaw or nag aadjust. So sa tingin ko ngayon is yun steering wheel rod connections dapat i adjust and re center. Any leads? Thanks!

most tire shops can do this service..

but if youre under warranty..submit a complaint sa dealership free dapat alignment.. especially low mileage kapa and 4months. i have a feeling its a tire issue .

Yes bro pinasok ko na sa warranty. They did wheel balancing and alignment last month. Pag balik samin ganon pa din. Lahat kami sa family na notice ito. Is it ok if ipasok ko ulit with the same complaint?

yes.. hindi nila ginalaw yan in my opinion. busy siguro sa other billable stuff. basta under warranty ipitin mo lng sila. kung ayaw ka nila bigyan ng oras. go to their manager or escalate to whoever is higher - this person will make sure that service advisor will do their job.

If nothing is bent, tire pressures check out ok, wheel centering is a simple service alignment shops can do. Look for 1 w/ Hunter or Hofmann alignment equipment that has specs for your model. Some don't grab the complete yearly updates...they can cost $500 annually. Most shops hand a 30day adjustment warranty.

The Forester we got comes with the stock sound system that has the Bluetooth fone connection and all that.... if I were to upgrade it to one that could accommodate a reverse cam, what would you guys suggest?

Or is it just simpler and cheaper to get one of those mirror dash cams with a reverse cam bundled in?
