Yes you're right my other car has smaller engine. But curiously our 2.0 gas Tucson is also relatively cooler. As rpacis mentioned, maybe heat insulation materials have also something to do with it.

Hi I am currently looking at purchasing a 2nd hand 2013 Subaru Forester base model that has run 18,700 km

upon checking with the records in GH Casa, they've already replaced it's air con compressor, is this normal for only a 4 yr car with minimal mileage?

also the last PMS was on February 2017 for 10,000kms, based on what I've heard before i think the PMS should be every 6 months or a certain amount of mileage which ever comes first right?

    thanks!

I can't speak for the compressor as it might be due to a defective unit. For the PMS, the SA can recommend that the same milestone checks be done since the unit can be considered to be running a low mileage (e.g. bihira gamitin). PMS should still be done every 6 months but if the mileage is low, then they may end up just repeating the same milestone routines over and over.

Ah, yeah, Hyundai might be using a "special" insulation material under the hood since our old vehicle, a 2009 Hyundai Getz (CRDi), has done a good job of keeping the hood cooler than our old CR-V.

I think yes, especially if pumasa new tax law. 5yrs naman ata cycle so mga 2019 pa i guess ang new body.

I guess sulit pa kung sure na 2019 pa ang all new. Considering this since madami safety features kahit base model and nice to have yun diff niya with premium. Medyo mahal nga lang maintenance ng subaru based on what I read here.

Right now, yes. Expect na halos 2M na ang base model starting next year dahil sa excise tax. Kung makaka-ipon ka pa ng kaunti, go for the premium na for the bells and whistles.

Actually, my bad. You're right, a little over 5% will be the increase. My info was outdated. :-)

The base trim Forester is one good buy. It is better fitted compared to similar-priced base trim CUVs.

Finally got the OR/CR, so I can now use the Forester! Yay! Question though: Is it normal to hear some sort of howling sound when traveling between 10 - 15 km/h? I can distinctly hear it when coasting, but if I get past or below that speed range, the howling goes away. I've read a few posts in other Subaru forums about a possible normal behavior for CVTs, while some had their transmissions repaired.

Thoughts for the local Philippine market?

I have noticed this also. The boxer engine purrs not like the usual inline or V-type engine.

Wait list daw talaga, dahil walang available stock? O hindi lang nila ma-release until after a month dahil kailangang naka-rehistro na sa LTO effective 1st June? Medyo matagal-tagal na paghihintay pa...
