Ang problema ko lang is hindi ko ma manual fold kasi may gear lock sa loob.

Yeah, that's the current status of mine -- it's disconnected from the inside already. I would advise against manual folding coz it could further break the gears inside and you'll end up with a floppy rear view mirror.

Well, I'm a Subaru newbie so I guess what I'm going through is part of the so-called "Cost of Owning a Subaru". Ipon kung ipon talaga. At least the vehicle is still usable and the mirror doesn't flap around yet.

You don't have to fold your mirrors all the time anyway. No need to fix it, save your money and enjoy your Subie.[emoji4]

Where did you have it disconnected? Gumagana pa angle adjustment mo for both sides?

Exactly! Everything is still in order -- as long as ones isn't too OC about it.

BTW -- has anyone tried to install those aftermarket "automatic speed control door locks" in their Forester?

It's funny coz we're still getting used to how the doors lock/unlock.

SA from Subaru Manila Bay texted me that there's a 40k discount on 2018 Foresters for cash transactions. Might reserve one this week, already so pissed at waiting on the new CR-V for almost 2 months.

Sa casa. Akala ko gagawan ng paraan pero papalitan na pala. E wala pa ako cash/budget for outright replacement.

All functions on left side mirror are dead. Pati signal light. Yun right lang gumagana.

In a way mas mabuti pa yun tinanggal ko yun fuse - at least that way may signal light at angle adjustment pa ako.

Yun fuse inalis ko sakin. Wala angle and power for both. Sa car ko walang signal on mirrors kasi sa side panel siya

Wished I have the money for an XT. I'll be using it mostly to go to work, so the base model would probably suffice.

Most vehicles on the road cannot match the quickness and speed of the FXT. You need a WRX to outrun it or something more expensive.

I have not reached that mark yet. I was able to do 220kmh on SCTEX and it can get very noisy inside the cabin past 200kmh.

Monthly amortization is definitely going to be hefty when it comes to Subaru's loan package compared to going directly to a bank. Probably higher by 15% or more.

For potential buyers, it's better to do their calculations first and decide the better option. Based on my comparative analysis last year on bank loans and casa-offered promos, total amounts (DP, sum of amortization, initial acquisition costs) only differ by around 50k over a period of 5 years.

If you have the means to pay monthly, such low DP schemes are worth considering.

Also note the chattel mortgage. I heard Subaru would charge around 40k whereas a bank will charge around 15k only.

Hearing from others is different from asking the dealer. It's better to check them out on the terms. Last year, I was offered a low DP scheme (to be able to get the discount) and I never paid anything other than the agreed DP amount.

Banks can generally offer better loan package than dealers. Dealers are not financial institutions so they charge way higher rates because its more risky for them. Low DP maybe light on the pocket upfront but the dealer will make their money on the amort thru higher rates. I think you have to compare options in terms of full consumption of the loan. All up front acquisition cost plus all amort until full payment of loan.

If you opt for a bank loan. Best practice to approach your bank first to check the lowest rate you can get approved for. If you go to a dealer first before searching for a bank approval, it becomes an IPP (installment papers purchase). Bank charges higher rates (vs if you approach the bank first) because the cost of acquiring your loan is higher (they have to pay dealer for the referral)

Rate difference ng bank branch referred loan (approaching a bank first) vs a IPP (approaching a dealer first then referred to a bank) is very significant. I’ve seen as much as double. More so the difference as against loan from the dealership. Waaay higher
