Hi , i test drove the new forester 2.0 NA last week and this morning it really looks great and engine is very responsive. I only have one comment, bumpy ang ride. I checked the tire pressure of the test unit and it was on 30psi. Is there a way to fix this? I really want a forester but the ride is a killer / deal breaker.... Thanks

Yeah the ride is quite firm. Pansin din ni Mrs LOL

I just reduced the air pressure to 29 in the front and 28 at the back. I think that's the best we can do.

Sir Harmless, significant ba ang improvement in the ride of ur forester when you reduced ur tire pressure? Are you happy/ satisfied with your forester?

Hi spade430! Honestly, it didn't improve too much. Maybe a little. But I can tell you that I am very happy and satisfied with it. I think the pros outweigh the cons.

Sir Forestrex ,yup the ride was bumpy wen i tried the 2.0 from greenhils and alabang. i don't know if its d road condition also. but tried one around Bgc yesterday medyo ok. I am comparing the ride from my 2003 patrol with Old man emu suspension 2" lift. But really i its the only thing thats holding us back from getting one.But As per sir Harmless Pros outweigh the cons...

oh ok, i don't know how the ride of an 03 partrol is since i've never rode one. anyway against it's competitors like the cr-v, rav4 and xtrail then the forester has a better ride, i think cx-5 and tucson's ride is a bit better than the forester. but their ride is not that far apart. what i can guarantee though is the forester's ride is much better than a montero sport and fortuner.

Thanks sir. I didn't know they do pickups. The rattling sound is driving me crazy, but I'm wary of returning because everytime they dismantle the car to look for the rattling sound, it ages the car and there's no guarantee they can find it, nadadagdagan pa. Makes me wish na sana kinuha ko nalang yung unit na inooffer sakin ni Subar Greenhills.

Anyway, I might just have my next service at a different Subaru dealer nalang.

Well, compared to my '03 Xtrail. Take note napalitan ko pa to aftermarket shocks and rims yun. Mas matagtag talaga ang Forester, IMO. But for me, it's not a big deal.

Yes definitely the ride is better than Fortuner or Montero Sport.

Btw, re the rattling sounds of my car, nadagdagan pa nung sinole sakin ng Subaru alabang, had bad experience with them. Really disappointed with their service.
I also have a rattling sound but only when I ride over humps, meron din ako problem sa fuel gauge ko my wife fill up the tank but was reading 3/4 full meron din kayo na encounter na ganitong problem.

Rattling sounds usually mean something is loose inside the cabin. When I fold down my back seats, they rattle like hell.

IMO. I tested the CX-5. The ride of my 2.0il is much better. Mas bumpy ang CX-5. We also own a fortuner. Ride of the forester is much better.
Never had the chance to test ride a tucson. My brother has a STA FE. Sta Fe's ride is much better though.

Sir Karl2001, with my experienced reg fuel gauge, i noticed right after full tank ko and full bars na ang gauge bigla na lang mawawala ang isang bar after driving mga 15mins. has anyone experienced this sa units nyo?

Regarding sa rattle sa likod, i thinks its the pull out cover. kasi i only noticed it during bumpy roads. i think yung floppy end ng cover. gumagalaw pag tagtag ang road. if not the cover, hindi kaya yung seatbelt sa roof sa likod. yung bukle portion tumatama sa ceiling during bumpy road.

yes that happens on the fuel gauge on my XT. solution: when u fill up at the gas station, turn off the engine. matagal na bago mawala yung 1 bar ko when full

Yung sakin mga sirs, it sounds like wires tapping on metal. Kahit hindi bumpy, nandyan sya, which leads me to believe na it has something to do with air causing the rattle. It can really get irritating. Subaru Alabang tried to find the source, both times they told me they fixed it already, and both times the rattle was still there after picking up my car. Dahil sa kakabaklas nila ng mga panels looking for the source of the sound, nadagdagan lalo yung noise, now I sometimes hear squeeking sound, and the rattling sound nagkaron na rin sa likod. This is after sabihin nila na they did extensive road tests na and confirmed wala na yung sound.

What's worse is pagkasole nila ng kotse sakin, hindi pa nakabalik ng mabuti yung isang panel na binaklas nila, ako pa ang nagbalik. Then there were black fingerprints all over the car, I don't know if it's grease, pati sa bubong meron, which mahirap alisin dahil sa material ng bubong. There was no care given to the car, even though I told them twice na habang hinahanap nila yung source of the sound, to take care of the car and treat it like a brand new car. Sabi ko sa kanila na it's a brand new car, it's not supposed to have rattling sounds agad.

Then there was the microtex elite na wash cloth na nawala sa hidden compartment sa likod ng car. It's not much (around 500-700 pesos I think), but when I told them about it, ang sabi daw ng service guys nila hindi daw nila ginalaw yung hidden compartment ng car ko, which was a lie kasi yung payong ko nakatago din sa hidden compartment sa likod, pero nung sinole sakin yung car, yung payong nasa labas na ng hidden compartment. They've offered to replace it now.

When I gave them the car to find the rattling sound, my fuel gauge was 11/12 bars, because I just filled it up full tank with Petron Blaze. When they returned the car to me, it had 4 bars left. They used up 7 bars, 60-65% of my fuel, running 125km worth of road tests. We have a 60L tank capacity sa Forester, and 60% of that is 36 liters. 125km divided by 36liters = 3.5km/L. And they do their road tests sa Daang Hari, where there is virtually no traffic, long clear road lang. I don't even want to mention the huge discrepancy this mano mano computation had with the car's computer trip meter. For me, kung naayos lang nila yung rattling sound, ok lang sana yung fuel loss kahit na it seems fishy... just sharing my disappointing experience with Subaru Alabang...

Anyway, regarding the fuel losing 1 bar agad, I think sir cfule is right. Whenever I fill up my car with the engine shut down, matagal ako mabawasan ng 1 bar. When I fill it up with the engine running, you immediately lose 1 bar after a few mins of driving.
