As of 4PM today, August 28, 2020, the Department of Health reports the total number of COVID-19 cases at 209,544.
DOH likewise announces 510 recoveries. This brings the total number of recoveries to 134,474.
A total of 3,999 confirmed cases are reported based on the total tests done by 101 out of 110 current operational labs.
Note: Of the 3,999 reported cases today, 3,275 (82%) occurred within the recent 14 days (August 15 - August 28, 2020). The top regions with cases in the recent two weeks were NCR (1,606 or 49%), Region 4A (457 or 14%) and Repatriates (278 or 8%).Of the 91 deaths, 55 occurred in August (60%), 33 in July (36%) 2 in June (2%) and 1 in May (1%). Deaths were from NCR (55 or 60%), Region 4A (10 or 11%), Region 5 (5 or 5%), Region 6 (4 or 4%), Region 8 (4 or 4%), Region 3 (3 or 3%), Region 1 (2 or 2%), Region 7 (2 or 2%), Region 9 (2 or 2%), Region 10 (2 or 2%), BARMM (1 or 1%), and Repatriates (1 or 1%).
There were 36 duplicates that were removed from the total case count. Of these, 12 recovered cases have been removed.
Moreover, there were fourteen (14) cases that were previously reported as recovered but after final validation, they were deaths.
These numbers undergo constant cleaning and validation.
