    obesity.. hypertension.. diabetes.. heart disease..
we used to jokingly (but correctly) call it, "bad gene syndrome".
nowadays, health experts call it "metabolic syndrome".

experts believe such persons are prone to higher morbidity and mortality from covid, compared to "regular folks".
and since there are more metabolic syndrome people among senior citizens...

in many research articles, the mechanism for the penetration of the virus into the cell, crosses molecules with the mechanism for hypertension control...

from what i've read getting infected with SARSCOV2 can put a lot of stress on the cardiovascular system

    heart rate goes 100+ bpm

someone described it as running a marathon

if you already have cardiovascular problem the infection can push you over the edge

and covid makes your blood thick coz of too many immune cells (inflammation)

if you have diabetes (and poor blood sugar control) your blood is already sticky to begin with coz of the high blood sugar

tapos dagdag mo pa ung inflammation you plumbing with get all clogged up

I received my swab test result today and it is negative but somehow in my mind I know it was covid-19 and not other type of virus infecting my throat because I don't recall getting any viral infection in my throat before it is always bacterial infection.

second-guessing the test will only make you feel bad.
    relax and be relieved.
