If you or anyone will care to read up on how immunity works, you’d understand why the urban poor, like us, are severely affected by this new disease. Key word is new. No one has had any exposure to the virus in time to develop an active immunity for it, save for the few out of a thousand who recovered. I personally don’t believe the poor have stronger systems. I’d invite anyone here to the PGH or any public hospital just to witness how crowded & overflowing their charity wards are, to the point that beds are set up in the corridors cause the hospital is so overwhelmed, and that is in normal times.
This is just a forum & everyone is free to post their opinion/s. Whatever opinion these guys might have is precisely that, their opinion. I personally take it with a grain of salt. It would have more credibility if backed up by a credible reference.

it's not really the immunity or weakness thereof, of the urban poor.
it's their neighborhood.
while the more affluent neighborhoods have physical firewalls and infection walls, no such thing exists in the poorer neighborhoods.
But, but, but, I still don’t see nor hear urban poor people dying left and right. Even if a lot of them might be covid positive already. We know these folks don’t rush to the hospitals, or even brgy health centers, when they have flu. It’s been months already and I don’t see news reports where a certain squatters area having lots of extremely sick people, or dying people.
So baka talagang malakas resistensya nila agains any type of viruses?

the theory being floated by some of us is that poor are more exposed to the sun so their vitamin d levels could be higher than rich people who avoid the sun as much as possible
it's not without basis
Vitamin D and Coronavirus Disparities - WSJ

The role of Vitamin D in the prevention of Coronavirus Disease 2 19 infection and mortality | Research Square
Abstract
Background/Aims: WHO declared SARS-Cov-2 a global pandemic. The aims of this paper are to assess if there is any association between mean levels of vitamin D in various countries and cases respectively mortality caused by COVID-19.
Methods: We have identified the mean levels of vitamin D for 20 Europeans Countries for which we have also got the data regarding the morbidity and mortality caused by COVID-19.
Results: The mean level of vitamin D (average 56mmol/L, STDEV 10.61) in each country was strongly associated with the number of cases/1M (mean 295.95, STDEV 298.73 p=0.004, respectively with the mortality/1M (mean 5.96, STDEV 15.13, p < 0.00001).
Discussion: Vitamin D levels are severely low in the aging population especially in Spain, Italy and Switzerland. This is also the most vulnerable group of population for COVID-19.
Conclusions: We believe, that we can advise Vitamin D supplementation to protect against SARS-CoV2 infection.
Don’t generalize. Not all of them go, but they surely bring their children to barangay health centers/ clinics /hospitals when they’re sick. Matiisin lang karamihan like us. Pag nilagnat o inuubo, Bioflu o Robitussin muna. Kung di na kaya, kokonsulta.

even Dr. D was wondering why despite the high density of slum areas we're not getting more corona deaths
so far we didn't become italy or spain
either pinoys are stronger or we're not there yet
no matter how matiisin nobody can hide tens of thousands of people dropping dead from corona
US italy spain have 20,000 to 30,000 deaths each
where are our tens of thousands of deaths?
Maybe same reason why our lowly mongrel dog is far more resistant to diseases than any purebreds.
I’m just rambling. Even researchers have no clue. And definitely you won’t find the answer here in this forum.

my opinion.
the askals are a product of natural selection.
since no one takes care of them as much as the so-called more desire-able purebreeds, the weak ones die.
what remains, are the strong askals. these are the ones that multiply. the offspring get to inherit the strong traits.
It’s called “hybrid vigor” doc. Happens in all animals. Purebreds are a product of inbreeding to magnify desirable traits at the expense of defects. When purebreds are crossbred to another breed, they get stronger. But don’t take my opinion to the core. There is always google.

i guess in some cases this holds true: to have an immunity, you either have to get vaccinated or be exposed to viruses in the right amounts. The adage "What doesn't kill you only makes you stronger" holds some water i guess.
imho, while experts are still hesitant to make a statement on the matter, i really think the hot humid weather plays a factor. Yes, it's still contagious, but it may not have the same potency.
Maybe they're thinking about the psychology of affirming that hot humid weather = dead virus: people would get overconfident and poopoo this so-called pandemic even more.
Either that or we do have some sort of stronger immunity. i was expecting to see bodies stacked up in garbage trucks when i realized we had an outbreak here. To credit the low number of deaths to our "early decisive action" and "effective quarantine efforts" is an even bigger stretch than the theories put forth so far.
