Maraming negosyo ang nagsara to fight off this chinese virus, yung iba ay essential businesses but they still opt to stop operation to help containing the spread of covid19. Ka suwapangan nalang yan ginagawa ng negosyanteng inuuna pa yung kita nila kaysa sa safety ng nakakarami. Imbes na magsakripisyo para ma totally lift na ang lockdown at makapag start lahat, may mga ugok na gusto pang magsamantala.

we must also remember, covid 19's clinical manifestations are non-specific. they are not unique to it alone. there are many other diseases, with similar manifestations. that is why, they must be tested for the virus.

i do not know if that is too high, or too low.
six months ago, we knew nothing about this disease. we didn't even know it existed.
it takes years of serious study, to learn a disease's characteristics.

i googled malaysia's criteria for inclusion for covid 19 testing.
it seems, "close contact" was part of the inclusion criteria.
to me, that would mean, those with close contact history, but totally asymptomatic, were tested along with those with more significant symptoms. does that mean, their number of positives, included both symptomatic and asymptomatic?
if it does, it would seem to me, their mortality rates are lower than ours, because a number of their positives, were asymptomatic or had minimal symptoms only.

in the phils, testing was for those with more severe symptoms. thus, higher chances of fatality.

the other countries?
i don't know.

Total Cases in Southeast Asia passed the 14,000 mark today to 14,629 with 633 New Cases across all ASEAN member states. Indonesia recorded the highest number of New Cases (247) today and still has the highest number of Total Deaths in the region (221). The Philippines reported 104 New Cases today, a 75% drop from yesterday (414). Malaysia still remains the country with the highest number of Total Cases (3,963) with 170 new infections reported today despite a Movement Control Order there. Interestingly, we should see these numbers spike with the sudden lockdown of the Masjid India area in the capital city of Kuala Lumpur, a predominantly migrant area linked to the Tabligh cluster. Nevertheless, its Recovery number is also the highest in ASEAN at 1,321. On a positive note, Total Recoveries in ASEAN today have crossed the 3,000 mark.
