Japan has an interesting approach on COVID19:

That appears to have kept the medical sector from being overwhelmed.

Essentially for them, the virus will spread and there's nothing you can do to stop it. Containment works, but only temporarily, and at great economic cost. Even if you identify the positive ones, you can't treat them all - you have faith in your own immune system to do its job.

What they're going heavy on is preparedness to treat COVID's worst symptom - pneumonia. Hospitals are not overwhelmed with testing and treatment of mild symptoms - hence they are able to focus their limited resources on treating pneumonia.

It really is infectious, Ganda ng strategy nila. I wonder if the DOH will eventually adopt this strategy. Testing palang only the privy gets priority...

The US is already pushing for more ventilators and drugs to treat those infected. Hopefully they get help fast...

Containment & cure are urgently needed, but the lone key to bringing normal back is immunity....natural or developed. Both risky. The former can be cruel. The latter will take time & testing. Til then, let's keep praying....Hope for the 3rd....the miracle of mutation.[emoji120]

A worrying video of the United States has shown just how quickly the coronavirus can spread if people don't abide by social distancing advice and avoid mass gatherings.

The footage comes courtesy of the location technology company X-Mode and the data visualisation firm Tectonix, who analysed the heavily criticised gatherings at spring break in Florida earlier this month, where some of the attendees have since been confirmed as having the virus.

By looking at the cellphone data from one beach in Fort Lauderdale, you can see how far and how quickly they travelled across the United States and thus bringing this incredibly contagious and dangerous virus with them.

There is a very good interview with a German internist on youtube. It's in German, sorry.

He says there nothing happening at all. If we just stopped testing for SARS-CoV-2, it would be gone. He mentions a paper in The Lancet, the case study of a 50-year old man in China. Treatment was lots of toxic drugs that kill the immune system and oxygen. I think it's this one. He calls this treatment malpractice.
