folks with prescription glasses many times have trouble wearing those face shields.

I wear glasses too and that's one protocol I do NOT follow. Para sakin kalokohan yan, I just use it as a headband.

Starting Nov 8 unvaccinated cannot enter the US na

Beginning November 8, all non-U.S. citizens who are non-immigrants and seeking to enter the United States by air will be required to:

Be fully vaccinated before boarding a flight to the United States; unless you meet the criteria for an exception.

Show a negative COVID-19 test result or documentation of recovery from COVID-19. The timing of this test depends on your vaccination status and age.

Tinier floating droplets can also spread the virus, they warned, meaning plastic shields can’t stop them. Not until last month did the World Health Organization and U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention fully affirm airborne transmission.

That meant plastic shielding had created “a false sense of security,” said building scientist Marwa Zaatari, a pandemic task force member of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers.

“Especially when we use it in offices or in schools specifically, plexiglass does not help,” Zaatari said. “If you have plexiglass, you’re still breathing the same shared air of another person.”

Recent CDC research found that desk or table barriers in Georgia elementary schools didn’t correlate with lower infection rates. Mask mandates and ventilation improvements did.

An April study published by the journal Science suggested that desk shields might even slightly raise the risk of Covid-like symptoms. And a prepublication paper from Japan late last month linked plastic shielding with infections in a poorly ventilated office.

Such studies raise the ironic possibility that when venues install too much plastic and impede ventilation, they could be raising the very risk they’re trying to reduce.

pati ung 5 or 6 ft distancing naka base dun coz they say large droplets would fall to the ground at that distance

There was this article recently about a wind engineer (or something) who said face shields may, in fact, aid in the infection since the airborne contagion lingers longer in the shield as opposed to without it.

some say it's drug-related, and some say it's the gastrointestinal disease itself, that has an effect on the virus' activity.

Indonesia first to green light Novavax COVID-19 vaccine

Biotechnology company Novavax said Monday that Indonesia has given the world's first emergency use authorization for its COVID-19 vaccine, which uses a different technology than current shots.

The vaccine doesn't require the extremely cold storage temperatures that some other vaccines need, which could allow it to play an important role in boosting supplies in poorer countries around the world.

The two-dose Novavax vaccine is made with lab-grown copies of the spike protein that coats the coronavirus. That’s very different from widely used mRNA vaccines such as Pfizer and Moderna that deliver genetic instructions for the body to make its own spike protein.

Novovax has its 1st EUA authorization.
