Part of the reason is to not overwhelm the health care system. Just imagine this: we allow entry without checking & quarantine. Infections spread & more people seek medical care. Hospitals cannot take in patients anymore, hcw get infected & quarantined or worse, die. HCWs quit because there is no effort to quell the spread. Then you have a collapse of the health care system.

for me whenever there's a new variant of interest or variant of concern i assume that variant will arrive in PH sooner or later (if it's not already here)

That’s really the way it is. Until a test comes out that is better than the rt pcr, then this testing policy will be the gold standard.

Pattern sa West Oz yung current qc protocol natin for arriving visitors, except that we shorten the hotel quarantine for fully vacinated to 7 days. Thesd are only for those coming from green countries. Sa OZ you cannot leave the country if you are not fully vacinated, dyan narin tayo papunta.

Bakit may nakakalusot na variant, matigas kasi ulo mga pinoy. Alam nila may ban sa Indonesia Malaysia at India kaya gagawin nila iikot sila sa Singapore, HK, South Korsa o Taiwan.

Second walang negatjve covid cettificate na hinahanap upon arrival. Kaya nakapasok UK variant.

It takes days before that virus will be detected by the PCR. You can get infected a day or 2 before your test, or you can get infected when you go to the testing center, and your result will be negative.

For international travel, the best solution pa rin ang mandatory quarantine upon arrival in preventing the transmission of the virus. Pero meron ako naririnig na may mga nakakalusot pa din sa mga quarantine hotels. Some are allowed to go out of the hotel.
