Sa divisoria not a true palengke kasi puro sa kalsada walang permanent structure

There is no direct flight from South America to the Philippines

Most flights require a connecting flight in LA, which requires a US visa

a variant first detected in colombia doesn't need a person from colombia to bring it to PH

    that's a bit too literal

it can be someone from the US who traveled to south america, got infected, traveled back to the US

infects someone who then flies to PH

sarscov2 is the perfect pandemic virus

it has a days-long pre-symptomatic phase where hosts are infectious

it doesn't make majority of hosts too sick to move around

some hosts are even asymptomatic all throughout the infection

with air travel, all countries are only hours away...

Wala bang RTPCR testing muna before flying sa L.A. airport?

or an RTPCR test may not be a avoidance to MU variant though possible may hindi nadedetect na may sakit yung biyahero.

    unfortunately,
    i think uls is right.
"it's only a matter of time, before new variants spread across borders."
let us pray they prove to be less problematic than the current variants.

New Zealand reported 28 new cases of COVID-19 on Friday, September 3, a big drop compared to the last few days, as authorities said the country was breaking the chain of transmission of the highly infectious Delta variant of COVID-19.

Authorities said 27 new cases were in Auckland and one was in Wellington. Friday's numbers were lower than 49 new cases reported on Thursday, September 2, and 75 the day before.

"While the fall is encouraging, we are mindful these outbreaks can have a long tail," Director of Public Health Dr. Caroline McEnlay said in a news conference.

Part of the reason is to not overwhelm the health care system. Just imagine this: we allow entry without checking & quarantine. Infections spread & more people seek medical care. Hospitals cannot take in patients anymore, hcw get infected & quarantined or worse, die. HCWs quit because there is no effort to quell the spread. Then you have a collapse of the health care system.
