problem is once governments become used to a new power it's difficult to dial back

the world's population allowed their governments to make them stay home (basically house arrest), make them wear masks, close their businesses and schools and churches

that was unthinkable in 2019

imagine this -- we let loved ones die alone and their corpses burned without funeral

totally unthinkable in 2019

the world's population surrendered so much of their rights dahil sa isang virus

question now is when will governments dial back

There was an increase in positive cases but symptomatic cases weren't serious. attributed daw to the new variant.
There was no increase in hospital admission like a year ago during the covid wave spikes.
What they are afraid is the lifting of all restrictions on the 19th. and they might expect daw a spike a few weeks after that.

the UK gov't is lifting all restrictions despite rising delta cases -- i think coz their government is sensitive enough to realize that it overstepped and is walking back

Yes. Dito sa amin several hundred doses lang ang dumating 2 weeks ago. The week after, zero.

Meron din mga ilan ayaw magpaturok pero majority ng nakakausap ko kahit mga simpleng tao like magtataho gusto magpabakuna.

Why do I feel like very few of us are following the lockdown strictly (going out for essentials only) The seniors at home have only been out TWICE since March 2020 and that was for the vaccines. Nakakaawa that 1 yr of their lives were wasted at home but then I am still thankful that none of us got sick.

Ako naman bihira lang talaga lumabas (once a month) because I dread going through the rituals (undressing in the garage, going straight to the bathroom for a shower, double mask and no drinking and eating while I am out)

Ewan ko kung vloggers lang ba normal ang buhay? Kasi kung yan ang basis, parang walang pandemic sa kanila. Also when I browse social media sobrang traffic na sa EDSA. Among my different groups of friends, none of us have seen each other since lockdown (puro padala lang ng food or gifts through grab) Yung ngipin ko nga ang sakit na hindi ako makapunta dentist, my dentist doesn't have clinic since lockdown din (he is in his 70s na kasi) Bahay namin dilapidated na kasi na skip na yung maintenance for more than a year. Laki talaga impact ng pandemic sakin, pero yung iba parang normal na normal ang buhay
