India's Bharat Biotech says vaccine 93.4% effective against severe COVID-19

Phase-III trials of a vaccine made by India's Bharat Biotech showed it was 93.4% effective against severe symptomatic COVID-19
The data demonstrated 65.2% protection against the Delta variant, first identified in India,
India's homegrown vaccine also showed effectiveness of 77.8% against symptomatic COVID-19 in the trial.

COVID SCIENCE-Lack of side effects doesn't mean mRNA vaccine not working; mRNA shots limit breakthrough infection severity

While a variety of side effects after receiving an mRNA COVID-19 vaccine may be a sign of the immune system kicking into high gear, a lack of such reactions does not mean it has failed to respond, researchers have found.

whenever i read a claim of xxx effectiveness,
i always try and fine out what their definition of "effective" is,
because definitions vary, even in the same industry.

Can private firms charge employees for dependents’ doses? | Inquirer News

Dito magkaalaman ang mga kumpanyang may totoong malasakit sa kanilang mga empleyado at isasama sa libreng bakuna ang mga dependents

I am wondering if how many companies here that ordered Moderna are including their employee's dependents and/or household members in the vaccination for free?

The article says its fair as long as the company does not profit from the transaction.

if money exchanged hands for the acquisition of the vaccine,
then someone had to have been paying for it.
is it fair to assume that the employer should be the one?
    touchy issue.

at 3,000 pesos a person for the two doses, a hundred people, i.e., 100 dependents by only 50 employees (2 dependents per employee), means 300,000 pesos...
add that to 150,000 pesos for the employees,
and that's 450,000 pesos that some folks assume the employer is going to assume.

"i may have malasakit, but as my bank account has bottomed out during the quarantines and CQs CQs..."

Tama si doc, kahit may malasakit ang company, kung nalulugi naman ang company because of this pandemic, sisisihin mo pa ba yung company kung hindi nya i-shoulder yung vaccines for the dependents?

I think that is the condition the govt gave to the private sector. Papayag sila na bumili ang private companies, wag lang pagkakitaan.

If you can afford to employ 50 employees, Im sure your net profit is more than 500k per month.

and that is how net profit is actually computed ... so if anyone proposes a business idea and projected profit ... it's as simple as employees x 10T x 12 months ...

3000 per employee is cheap for many companies

An RT PCR test costs more

Puregold’s net income per employee is 734K

    BPI is 658K

Yup. And looking at the bigger picture, mas makakamura sila na paturukan na lang employees. Hindi na nila kailangan pagkakakitaan yan kasi it will pay for itself. Wll sana nga ganun ang isipin nila.

Dominican Republic giving third COVID-19 vaccine dose in move to stave off new virus variants

People who received the AstraZeneca vaccine will get the third dose 12 weeks after their second shot. Those who received Sinovac Biotech's vaccine can get a third shot one month after their second dose.
Yung nag take ng Sinovac pwede na daw 3rd booster dose one month after the second dose.
