Karamihan sa mga open na bansa pare parehas naman requirement, negative covid test 3-5 days old on arrival, then another covid test on the 6th day after arrival.

What we are seeing right now are confirmed covid cases but how about those who never knew that they got covid and never been tested? I guess that would be triple or even quadruple the confirmed cases count. I myself take rapid test every month or 3 weeks always positive IGG but what if within the month I got covid virus and I never knew because I didnt get positive IGM. It is just really hard to contain this.

no one really knows how effective these vaccines are/will be, as virus variants are continuously being generated. the night is too young.

    masks always work.
it's the people who do not put them on the correct way, that is the weakest link.

    but even better than mask,
    is the stay home policy.

it is more effective to remove oneself from the occasion of the virus,
than to wear the best protective wear money can buy, amidst the environs of the virus.

The U.S. Is Sitting on Tens of Millions of Vaccine Doses the World Needs

    Someones hoarding the vaccine.

Why don't they just send it to Americans based abroad where AstraZeneca vaccine has already been approved.

ngayon kailangan mag demand ng flight ban from PH ang ibang bansa

    sounds ridiculous diba?

it takes time for these things to be announced officially

by the time na-announce yan matagal nang kumakalat yan

who knows this Cebu variant could have evolved in Q4 2020 and only detected in Feb 2021
Sometimes the virus needs to find a very comparable host where it will be able to mutate into a new strain before transferring.

Or it could slowly mutate naman while being transferred kaya hassle dyan na wala tayo effective at widespread testing kasi hindi mo ma-check agad kung may small changes na sa genome ng bagong variant nang magpopositive na tao.

Trump bought so many vaccines before he left office. IIRC $3.5B for Moderna $3.95B Pfizer, kaso daming tao na ayaw mag pa vaccine

Kasi majority gawa for internal use so by mouth talaga. (ang iissue kasi pag by mouth eh side effect insomnia so dapat itake morning)

Tapos Vitamin A pa para mabalance fat soluble.

Ang sun wag nyo take for granted. Eh mga pinoy like farmers may nagkaka skin cancer ba? Sanay sa tirik ng araw yan.

    3rd world tayo eh

ung genome sequencing countries do it voluntarily and upload sequences to public database for other scientists to see... di natin priority yan eh... takes resources to do that

    ideally... when you're an island...

you look for everyone with virus on your island and quarantine them until they recover/no longer infectious

at the same time everyone coming to your island should be quarantined before they're allowed to mix with people already on the island

problem with a piece of paper that says someone is negative is it only tells you the person has no detectable virus at the time of the swab (which is usually 3 to 5 days ago)

and the person can get infected between the time after the swab and the time he's entering your island

so a piece of paper that's 3 or 5 days old doesn't guarantee anything

kung ako authority sa island di ko na require PCR test result coz for me it's useless -- derecho quarantine agad

Well, the next best thing to quarantine & the rt pcr is the Rapid Antigen Test. Although not as accurate, it will be more practical for a resort to screen guests/travellers. But I am betting a Vaccine Passport will be a requirement for all once majority are immunized.

from a tourism perspective that will discourage tourists

who wants to go to an island where upon arrival you're going to be isolated in a hotel room for 2 weeks before being allowed to go anywhere
