so if people where already being infected in Dec 2020 we should have seen an increase in hospitalizations in January palang

personally,
i find it difficult, determining whether it is the new, improved version of the virus, or whether it is the humens' loosened behavior vis a vis safety protocols, as the deciding factor to explain the seeming resurgence. maybe a combination of both.
politically, it is more correct to blame the virus.

yes i think the local variant could have already been around since late last year kasabay ng evolution ng UK variant (independently)

wala kasi tayo surveillance kaya Feb 2021 lang nadetect (and only very recently na-determine it's a unique variant)

then slowly slide back to "normal".

if you tell 'em there's a more virulent virus on the prowl,
they'll probably keep off the streets for a longer period of time.

Because the chinese vaccines have not yet been approved for use in Japan. Pfizer palang ang approved vaccine dun.

The china vaccines were offered to the IOC itself, so countries that already have agreements with China or have already approved the china vax can take part in this offer.
