The Whole Virus (Inactivated Virus) technology seems more effective at any variants.
A killed virus vaccine is likely to offer greater protection

Brazil P.1 new gen variant that is infecting the younger group. Not suprising after Brazll explosive surge was the perfect environment for mutation to thrive.
The IATF will be sending a junket to INDIA to finalize deal with next gen vaccine that can deal with the UK and SA variants.
.
Galvez off to India to negotiate supply of Novavax vaccinesPreliminary analysis indicates that the UK variant strain that was increasingly prevalent was detected in over 50% of the PCR-confirmed symptomatic cases (32 UK variant, 24 non-variant, 6 unknown). Based on PCR performed on strains from 56 of the 62 cases, efficacy by strain was calculated to be 95.6% against the original COVID-19 strain and 85.6% against the UK variant strain [post hoc].
In the South Africa Phase 2b clinical trial, 60% efficacy (95% CI: 19.9 – 80.1) for the prevention of mild, moderate and severe COVID-19 disease was observed in the 94% of the study population that was HIV-negative. Twenty-nine cases were observed in the placebo group and 15 in the vaccine group. One severe case occurred in the placebo group and all other cases were mild or moderate. The clinical trial also achieved its primary efficacy endpoint in the overall trial population, including HIV-positive and HIV-negative subjects (efficacy of 49.4%; 95% CI: 6.1 – 72.8).
The government is eyeing to purchase 30 million doses of Novavax vaccines from SSI, which is expected to start arriving in the country by May, 2021.

Sir in order for the virus to mutate kailangan nakababad siya matagal sa loob ng tao
sa China kasi they literally shut down entire cities test every person and isolate all positives
so the virus has less chance to mutate or even if there are mutations, less chance to spread
kaya mapansin mo kung saan may VOC (variant of concern) sila ung nagkaroon ng large outbreak (UK, Brazil, South Africa, US)
pati Pinas meron homegrown variant na-identify sa Cebu (remember Cebu had a large outbreak last year)
they don't need to comply with western standards
they aren't seeking approval of US, UK, EU regulators
ang market nila developing world
they don't subscribe to the standards, institutions, processes designed by the West
pero eto
di ba kayo nagtataka bakit walang astrazeneca vaccine sa US?
It was also delayed because of severe side effects cases.
AstraZeneca expects U.S. trial results in next 4-6 weeks, research chief says | Reuters
One of the U.S. trial investigators, who was not authorised to speak on behalf of the company, said on Friday the trial now had enough data to do an interim analysis, and investigators were cleaning the data so that data safety monitors could start analysing it.
“We’re all hoping that there will be some data for them to be able to put together a report for the FDA to apply for emergency use authorization by the end of the month (February),” the investigator said.
AstraZeneca and its partner, Oxford University, say their COVID-19 vaccine, which is already approved for emergency use in about 50 countries, has 76% efficacy against symptomatic infection for three months after a single dose, and that this is increased if the second shot is delayed.
scientists have been tracking SARSCOV2 mutations since the start of the pandemic
remember last year pinagusapan ang mutation from d614 to g614?
the original virus from China has already been replaced by mutants
matagal na
March 2020 pa
![]()
where do mutants arise?
in places where there were large outbreaks
fast forward to 2021
D614G mutant which is more infectious than the ancestral virus is old news
now there are mutants that are even more infectious than D614G and are able to escape antibodies of those who were previously infected

so if you got covid last year and you got antibodies na...
pag nahawaan ka ng variant na may escape mutation, your antibodies will not attach to them
it will be like experiencing covid for the first time again
back to zero
We are so late at the outset!
