Well, i was born in the early 70s, ordinary people dont seem to mind if there was martial law, I lived in espana, well crime was low and people were diciplined, life was simple, recto was just a few minutes away, my dad and i just walk to Ever recto, dun kami nag memerienda, cant say its was better before, maybe people back then dont complain that much...on what they dont have...

Ordinary people didn't complain much back then, because they know what happens to people who complain too loudly.

Yan ang naririnig ko from my elders - don't talk bad about the gov't, don't argue with the police, vote during elections (huwag na hinde at makukulong ka), etc. etc.

I really remember: It seems lahat takot sa pulis, kahit ordinaryong tao na wala naman ginagawang masama, takot na takot makakita ng pulis.

This I still don't understand the implication of the leadership style. Is this going to be the norm (if not already is)?

In fairness, their excuses for his outbursts get more interesting (Cebuano culture, misquotes, and now hunger and exhaustion).

DILG 'ready' with case vs police generals Pagdilao, Tinio

"Generals Pagdilao and Tinio – we are ready with the prima facie case against them, which I will sign when I get back to my office," said Interior Secretary Mike Sueno on Monday, August 22, during a press briefing at Malacańang Palace.

Sueno said the DILG is likely to make public the case against the two top cops on Tuesday, August 23.

The DILG is also building cases against the two retired police generals Duterte named – retired Deputy Director General Marcelo Garbo Jr and former police general Vic Loot, who is now mayor of Daanbantayan, Cebu.

While Sueno could not reveal the exact whereabouts of Garbo, he said the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group still plans to file a case against him.

Kindly post his proof?

State the facts, baka BS lang yan eh.

Ito yung pinagkunan ni Sen. Alan. https://psa.gov.ph/sites/default/files/2014%20PIF_0.pdf

Baka EJK 20/day, murder plus homicide kahit bawasan natin 50%, (34/2 = 16) eh 36/day pa rin kay PGong, lalo lumala patayan.

Again 50% reduction in Homicide and murder ha.

Business groups on Rody’s first 50 days: So far, so good

By Richmond Mercurio (The Philippine Star) | Updated August 22, 2016 - 12:00am

MANILA, Philippines – The country is now more than halfway through the Duterte administration’s first 100 days and the business community so far likes what it is seeing.

Business groups polled by The STAR have given the President and his team a passing grade for their initial 50 days in office, except for some concerns raised regarding their observance of due process.

“So far so good for the Duterte administration. I will give a grade of eight with 10 as the highest,” Management Association of the Philippines (MAP) president Perry Pe said.

“We like what we see. Hopefully he will stay the course,” Employers Confederation of the Philippines president Donald Dee said.

Wala nang due process at rule of law ngayon.

‘Bato’ weeds out cops on drugs after expose in Senate | Inquirer News

If there's one thing that gives me hope for this administration, it's Bato. Even if he does follow the militant marching orders of the President, he is doing his best to try and clean the name of the PNP.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

So it seems the presidential appointees will be given 7 days to submit their voluntary resignations..however it was pointed out that certain job functions(e.g. signing documents) can't be done by the OIC.

Say that we do get out of the UN for one reason or another: just what kind of "benefits" do we stand to lose? Ibig bang sabihin they won't be as generous with donations, grants, etc? Babay na yung WPS issue?
