I pity the president's men. Nagmumukha silang sinungaling at mga tanga. They say one thing to media, only to be contradicted by their boss' big mouth later on. The stress they must be going through everytime the are put on the spot, and how to do damage control and patch up and/or repair damaged "reputations". I hope it's all worth it for them and their loved ones. Only time will tell if they made the right decision to join this administration.

(I didn't say anything before out of respect or I do not want a rift with American but they have to go. It will get more tense. If they see an American, they will really be killed. They will demand ransom, they will kill them. Even if you're black or white, as long as you're American.)

Duterte also seemed to say that the presence of American soldiers in Mindanao would make the situation there more tense. Though no American soldier has been held captive by the Abu Sayyaf, Duterte seemed to say American soldiers would be prime hostage targets for the terrorist group.

Yasay said the President's speech should not be a cause of concern as the President only wanted to protect Americans from kidnappings and terrorism as they had become "a very good target."

“We will not join any expedition or patrolling the sea. I will not allow it because I do not want my country to be in involved in a hostile act,” Duterte said in a speech during the 48th anniversary of the 250th Philippine Airlift Wing at the Villamor Air Base in Pasay City.

“I just want to patrol our territorial waters. We do not go into patrol or join any [foreign] army because I do not want trouble,” he added.

The President said the Philippines would only patrol within its territorial waters.
