All valid and solid points there, niky. He's a politician and he's adapting, or metamorphosizing as he promised.

But he'll be making some high gamble moves in the coming weeks and months like China, Libingan, NPA, Bangsamoro, etc. Plus the bodies keep piling up alarmingly.

He's unpredictable. Who knows, he may just resign as he threatened/joked about at times...

Anyway, interesting times ahead, to say the least....

The body count is indeed worrying. Hopefully assigning a full time task force will keep entrenched police protectors from killing would-be stool pigeons before they have time to squak.

China... I have little hope there. He's an unabashed fan of the Chinese president... a ruthless technocrat who uses black propaganda, violence and intimidation in lieu of diplomacy. Libingan, yun din.

The NPA... well... wait and see... at least if it goes back to a shooting war, they can't claim Duterte didn't give them a chance. I like what they did at the DAR and Malacanang regarding protesters, as well.

Unpredictable nga. But if he resigns, he leaves us with Robredo... which, IMHO, wouldn't be such a bad thing. She may have benefitted from LP campaigning, but she isn't an LP insider or part of the old boys group like Mar is.

There's a new report going around of Digong taking a commercial PAL flight to Davao. While his fans are lapping it up, they seem to not see the security nightmare it presents and the potential danger to the president. And that also goes for VP
Leni's plan of still taking the regular bus. Their best defenses is unpredictablity and irregular and unannounced schedules. If they are going to take commercial trips then all an assailant has to do is wait at the terminals or book a seat in the same vehicle.
