Problem is even the means doesn't really achieve the ends, so in the end it's more fcked up.

Look at the US, Mexico, South America (said niky), etc.

Not one country has won the war on drugs. Not one.

    But the issue wins elections.

Declare it as a public health issue rather than as a peace and order issue. Even the UN recognizes this.

However, where long-term data is available, it does point to systematic failures in drug policies. A*study*published in the British Medical Journal in 2013 found that despite efforts to limit the supply of these drugs, since 1990 prices have fallen while the purity of the drugs has increased. The trends were similar in the US and in Europe. The authors’ conclusion was clear: “These findings suggest that expanding efforts at controlling the global illegal drug market through law enforcement are failing.”

As much as we want to rid the problem of drugs (among others lest we forget) and go guns blazing at corruption, propriety and wisdom will always point at the long, hard way of addressing this. Cut the branches and you're just pruning the tree to grow some more.

BTW, as i was in traffic this morning, i just thought na parang hindi ata nasisira MRT lately ah.

most of the people being killed are harderned or repeat offenders. and most pt the executioners have dorect knowledge of the target. maybe, they or their families were victims of these criminals. why did the executioners become empowered, coz wala na sila protektor like some scalawags. Du30 sent a message that even Generals today have no more immunity.

maybe, that's the onky thing happen. if we will always equate everything to an apocalyptic scenzrio of street chaos or drug war, then we will not get wveything done.

besides, look at the news, Du30's admin odentified that there are rpughly 2M people affected by the drug trade. that's like less than 2% of the population, it's a minority problem na pinalalaki nyo lang sa isip nyo

im sure Digong has more things in his head roght now like dealing with the insurgency movements and corruption.

ganito kasi yan juts. ASG is like any other organization. may rank and file, may bisor, may boss.

when Du30 said ASG are not criminals, he immediiately gets the heart of the recruited ones, the neophytes. the yong ones who were duped into joining for a cause becusse They thought they were joining a good cause. one man's terrorst is naother man's freedom fighters. diba lagi kayo nanonood ng James Bond.

so that leaves Du30 to deal with the tiers of the ASG hierarchy, the hardened ones na lang. basically, he is softening them up for the upcoming battle

hmmmm...pwede din pala hindi iyong anti-drug campaign ang responsible sa sudden spike of drug related killings. possible pala the vicious mexican drug kingpins operating here, particularly the alpha thugs of the sinaloa drug cartel, are killing their own to silence and police their ranks.:

now this is pretty scary stuff.

naalala ko tuloy iyong mga latinos na na-aresto sa condo sa bgc last year ata iyon. i think dito ko una nadinig iyong mexican drug cartels na nag-operate dito

No digong fan here, its not just the users and pusher that is directly affected, how about the families? I fired 3 persons for stealing due to drugs( big thanks to the taguig police) my cousin is in jail at this moment, he has 7 kids, our ancestral home is in ruin due to the fact the he sold everything, even the steel windows and the our rusty water tank, metal base and all, my other cousin was getting drugs in dasmarinas, his companion was shot dead infront of him, may atraso pala yung kasama nya sa dealer na pinuntahan nila, which he didnt know, now he's hiding from his companion's family and threaten by the dealers which we hope are dead becoz of digong's actions.

Dunno if it's just paranoia...one scary scenario is if the drug pushers that have been killed so far are just the local syndicates or small time pushers. Once the drug landscape has been "reset" with the help of these extrajudicial killings, a certain drug cartel can easily move in and take their place. And this certain drug cartel make our local drug syndicates, the Chinese nationals, the West Africans, etc. look like wet-nosed interns. They are organized, they are well funded, they are well connected, and they are waaaay more violent. Pag nagkaugat yan dito...i assure you, not only a "mere 2%" of the population will be affected.

i just hope they're not "playing favorites", or just killing the minnows in a sea of sharks.

Para kay OB kasi everything is relative. Kaso from different world siya so yan problem.

Nagsalita na pala mga traders/businessmen, they are wary of federalism because we are indeed not mature enough as a political country. Ano kaya sasabihin ni PGong at nang kanyang mga cabinet secretaries na ang tatapang kung magsalita. Parang nanduduro eh, "sumunod kayo or else!"..... Napanood ko lang presscon ni Bato at SolGen.

In the first place, who's pushing for federalism? Si Duterte lang ba?

Nanduduro naman talaga, gaya gaya kay Lolo Digong.

But this is what really baffles me. Duterte keeps saying STOP or else... Pero ano yung or else?

When various individuals and sectors start finding their voices and balls again, what will Duterte do when he's finally challenged directly? This never happened in Davao.

What is with the way Bato talks in public? The usual matapang with matching sweeping up and down glances. Parang nagiinuman lang. [emoji481]

I'm pretty sure all of the local politicos are salivating at the idea.

Bigger piece of the pie goes back to each district... meaning more projects and more kickbacks for everyone.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...
