I also had doubts about it when it appeared on FB. Halatang halata naman eh. Why on earth would the president ride to Muntinlupa on a motorcycle alone knowing that he could be an open target for 1) assassins or 2) reckless idiots on the roads.

Kung personal cars man yan ni Big Time Convoy, imagine plunking down a good 6-7M just for his new LC200 and two Innova back-ups. So much for austerity and talk of gov't officials using Avanzas.

Pag wala pang napapatay na garantisadong big time drug lord o kriminal in the next 6 mos, at puro uhugin na pusher lang at pulis patola ang tinitimbog, mag alsa na tayo, at ilagay si Leni. Yan ang kagandahan na hindi nanalo si BBM meron backup na ok sa lahat.

Perhaps you should also include the salient points of the article, and your even your own insights to build credence. It would also be good to post the content of the GMA article quoting then Justice Sec De Lima, as the title alone (a 2014 article at that) is misleading to the readers who will just see what is on the heading, and they will not grasp the entire item:

It is a good try to beef up control of the Bilibid by using a stronger, and hopefully, more professional and incorruptible force (like the SAF) but what are the long term plans to this? You cannot keep the SAF there forever (perhaps they'll be rotated) and the bottomline of BuCor is the term "Correction" and that's what also has to be improved by the government (aside from building a newer facility elsewhere which was a long time proposal AFAIK).

but sometimes, it is even more costly in the long run, if one does not bite the bullet and proceed with the new.

Well, i suppose he trusts the SAF more than he does the BuCor.

Dunno if i'm using the proper terminology, but imho the SAF is an attack force meant for special ops, rescue, recon, etc. They aren't an occupying force who will stay for the long term and manage BuCor.

He'll get good media mileage out of this though. i'm surprised the SAF operatives didn't rappel down a helicopter.
