    Well... DUH.

Digong may probably be a reasonably honest man and effective administrator... but it has been blindingly obvious for quite a while that he is neither a great diplomat or statesman.

All we can hope for now is that his advisors steer him generally right.

It seems majority of his supporters drank the campaign's whole I am the messiah kool aid without actually getting to know the guy and his stand on government policies. I wonder how he plans on "Leaving macroeconomic policies unchanged" while having commie appointees in his cabinet. Guy says "I really hate criminals" but is a self admitted ally of the family of the biggest crook in Philippine history. Claims "I love my country" but seems to have given up on contested (for him now China's) islands saying he won't abide by international tribunal's decision and prefers bilateral talks. Ever had a one on one with a guy with a bigger gun? How did that work out for you? No? How about territory for trains then? Not all of his ideas are questionable, I even like some of them. And his simple way of living is commendable, I don't know if any other president could do that. There are just so many questionable (to put it mildly) ideas they are floating around major issues that are so concerning. I wonder if his supporters know jack sh#t about any of these.

Can't blame the masses for falling for his rock star level popularity but I am really disappointed in the smart(er) supporters. I hope the next election (kung magkakaroon pa) will be about where candidates' stand on issues rather than personalities.
On the bold part, Yes as a nation No as an individual.

I do believe I did everything to win some votes for the right person "in my humble opinion". But I respect the democratic way even if goes beyond my sane logic and sound reasoning.

    It's done!

    Change?

    More like deja vu.

    Return of the nightmare.

Losing hope fast even before he started.

Reelected Las Pinas Rep. Mark Villar on Tuesday said he has accepted the offer of presumptive President Rodrigo Duterte to be his public works secretary.
In a statement, Villar, the son of former Speaker, senator and housing magnate Manuel “Manny” Villar Jr., said he has accepted the offer after consulting with his family.

The other issue here is that the voter demographics of Duterte isn't the same as ERAP who was primarily masa. Digong got a lot of the A, B and C's to go for his branding.

This is one election where i actually saw my immediate with a different choice of candidates (whereas before we were solid behind one candidate).

The close VP race is one example of one where every vote counts. And this is one VP race where where the repercussions are very, very great (in fact, in certain aspects, even greater than the Presidential penant).

Have one blasting past your business and all talk stops for the minute or two it takes to pass by.

Think scav-equipped Honda Civic... trolling through a parking lot setting all the alarms off. That's what we're talking about.

    -

The problem talaga with sound emissions enforcement is that our government has no concrete sound level protocols. Simply enforce sound and exhaust emissions laws properly, and people should be able to drive whatever they like.

Even Harleys... after putting some extra muffling on them.

    -

Mura lang and decibel meter. Equipping the police / LTO with enough to serve the entire country won't be cheap, but charges for sound testing and sound emissions violations can offset the cost and perhaps even pay for the testers within just a year.

Yes malakas ang tunog ng harley. Lalo na pag isang buong group. Nakadinig na ako sa expressway harley haroroot binirit talaga. Pero usually ang madalas ko madinig pag pumaparada papasok ng gate kapitbahay.

Pero what im trying to point out usually responsible mga naghaharley. Ang layo sa mga scooter groups.

There are bashers, but the rest of us have no "manoks" in this election. We're just giving our opinions based on what we see.

    -

If all you ever read is praise of Digong, then you aren't learning much about him. Honest critiques anbd open discussion are NECESSARY to ensure that democracy works. Otherwise we'll end up with another Marcos... everyone kissing his derriere and everyone against him sent to the gulag... and whatever good intentions the leader has leading down the road of unintended consequences and eventual disaster.

Many people forget: The Philippine economy crashed through the floor YEARS before the EDSA revolution.

    -

I am still willing to give Digong a chance. But I am an eternal optimist. Other people here will not be so kind. But whether they love Digong or hate him, pay attention to what they're saying. A lot of very intelligent people around here with very accurate observations about this up-and-coming government.
    -

Yung kay marcos sr kasi madami factors. Weakness nya the love for luxuries at yung asawa.

So ang nakikta ko comparision kay duterte with marcos eh pareha abogado. Mas magaling di-hamak si marcos sr magsalita.

That's the problem if one has no experience holding a national position, he don't know how extensive the problem really.

    Pang local ordinance lang talaga.

Given the number of trapo politicians being considered as cabinet members, we are going to see change, a change for the worst.

Lynx #1 is well and truly dead (flooded). Lynx #2 is an LSi. The only things that will swap over are the accessories and suspension. (cross-drilled brakes, engine parts, LSD, etcetera, won't). Might have to buy Lynx #3 to swap parts from #1 onto, then take the bodykit and power windows off of #1...

    It doesn't matter.

May mga bastos na naka-Harley. (at may kilala akong taong na-i-irita sa tunog ng Harley. Parang sirang diesel daw)

May mga bastos ngang naka-Ferrari na naghaharurot sa gabi.

May mga bastos na naka-"big bike" na humaharurot umaga, hapon at gabi (and those, talagang stop-work/school/business until umaalis).

In the end: Ano yung bawal? Ano yung exact specifications? Decibel limits? Basta ba modified lang, bawal na? Or may limit na mag-a-apply din sa stock na motor (and believe me, maraming "stock" na sobrang ingay).

Kung hindi mo ipapagbawal based on a concrete definition, that's plain discrimination.

I'm saying this as someone who's experienced firsthand the kagaguhan of rich motorbike and supercar owners in Manila. Biggest joke here: bawal nga maingay... bawal HID... pero pag luxury car, stock na maingay at HID, puwede?

    -

In the end, ang tanong: Sa Davao: pag maganda ang boses, puwede pa rin bang mag-videoke hanggang alas-quatro ng umaga?

Oo sa isang grupo meron bastos/nagkakamali.

Pag bawal syempre bawal. Kaya nga ang noise pollution 10pm ipapatupad. Nahighlight lang yung videoke kasi ito ang talamak na maingay.

To give you an example what im trying to point out: Ngayon napatupad ng MMDA yung no contact policy sino lagi nahuhuli? Bus, jeepney, taxi drivers

    sound pressure(dB) isn't everything.

one also has to take into account sound signature and frequency

the noise can be as "loud" as 120 dB but if it's below 20 Hz and above 20 kHz then it's negligible because it's beyond human frequency range

on the other hand, let's say they imposed a 100 dB limit(which is still freakin' loud) yet it sounds like nail scratch, I'll rather have the 101 dB one that sounds like large thumps

heck, for that matter there exists a textbook for that

but then, it's all subjective and one thing you can't put into law is something as vague as subjective

dude, not everybody can afford (or be willing to fork out hard earned cash) to fit resonators in their exhaust systems just to make its sound pleasing to you

no, i don't think bro that you're pro duterte. you are as against duterte as macsd is against PNoy.

i batted for roxas because not only i think he could be a good president but also i am loyal to this administration for professional reason.

when duterte won, i was one of those who said let us give it to the man for the sake of unity and reconciliation. but, there are trolls, stupid as they are, who seem to proselytize disunity and division, and it is just so unfortunate that they, with all due respect, seem to be more favored and protected here for one reason or another.
