3,000 kms in two months - great car (truck pala) and no regrets!
Consistently averaging 9.2 to 9.4 kms / liter on my daily commute between Sucat and Ortigas business district. Have used Petron diesel since purchase. Loaded up with Shell for the first time this morning and am curious to see if there will be a difference in performance and / or fuel consumption.

'Appreciate the info and tip, thanks mucho! As you've said, the strada is a great truck, my ave. consumption is 10km/liter from novaliches to diliman going through the morning and evening traffic of commonwealth.

lui: this is another wire, directly under the passenger seat. Yung usb port nasa glove compartment - nice attachment this one, works fine with ipod and flash drive

wee 69: try mo to lower the utility box price and get it na, this would be very useful in securing your things at the back pag di ka magkakabit ng lid or shell.

maganda yun may utility box sa likod ng pickup. it is attached or should I say bolted on. bubutasan yun wall ng bed tapos dun iattach yun box via bolts. the thing is, if you plan to carry/haul large bulky items(like bikes), sagabal yun box. but its really great rin, kase you can store so many things there instead of storing it inside the car - like noisy tools and tool boxes, ropes, large heavy duty car jack, dirty cargo covers etc.

Baka provision yun for a seatbelt warning light/sound or a seatbelt pretensioner.

    Guys!

Bakit ganun katagal plaka and stickers nyo? I got my license plate 1 week after I bought mine last Nov. and had my stickers 1 week after the plates. I'm registered in San Pablo LTO.

I purchased my carryboy jumbo utility box (side openings and flat black color) for 19K last Dec. at a dealer in Lipa City. Wee 69, don't buy it for 24K. The nice thing about the carryboy utility box is it's ease of removing it when you plan to haul large things. It only takes 2 nuts, although you have to add additional locks for better security.

I've logged in 7K+ kms and so far, no complaints. I've tried almost all diesel brands and I guess the differences are due to personal preference. Fuel consumption is between 10.5 to 11.5 km/L. Fastest speed is almost 180kph, downgrade skyway, 170kph flatgrade also skyway, 4 passengers, using caltex. Much harder reaching those speeds on the other diesel brands. Pero stable yung sasakyan even on high speeds at di rin maingay.

Balak kong kumuha ng pick up dis February. My choice either a Ford Ranger 4x2 or Strada GLS. my questions are: Yong bang Strada Bosch ba ang CRDI system niya? ang differential ba ng strada open o LSD type? me engine immobilizer ba ang strada? all of these features meron ang ranger and I am more inclined doon sa Ranger dahil me 4x2 option at 200 grand cheaper pa ang Ford Trekker kesa sa Strada GLS. Thanks a lot for all the information that you will provide and it will help at lot sa decision making ko.

BTW matindi porma ng Strada !!!

    Ferna 12,

So far wala namang issues after 8k kms for almost all diesel brands.

Malakas engine niya, LSD, also high ground clearance, and maganda rin daw ang ride. If you only use it in the city na baku-bako at baha ng baha, then you'll never go wrong. 200k difference is also a lot, especially if you do not intend to go to the boondocks.

Also consider maintenance cost, reliability, resale value if you intend to sell it later, and rear cabin space if you always have a family with you.

    Good luck!

Ganda talaga ng ride, doesn't mind all of those potholes and humps, galing din ng sound insulation, you can hardly hear what's happening outside, yun nga lang you have to stock-up on really loud cd's you might fall asleep.

Just got my ride yesterday. I decided after reading all of the good reviews here in this thread. I was about to buy a hi-lux advertised here, but the price differential the 2nd-hand unit w/ 65k on the odo w/ that of a b-new Strada was very minimal. Only comment is that the interior has too much plastics compared to the hilux, but beyond that, I think I will not regret my decision!!

not to mention the ranger has a bigger bed, and taller cargo walls so cargo flexibility lamang ang ranger

    doc glen nice pics!

ano ulit yung tires na pinalit mo? what size? bangis tingnan even with the stock rims.

may ome shocks na ba for the new strada? medyo unstable kasi yung pwet niya in very rough roads parang sumasayaw.
