If I want to hit 12km/L in my strada, I see to it that my fastest is only around 110-120kph and I go easy with the overtaking (madali itong gawin sa strada due to the adequate torque). Kung puro bira at minsan pinapaabot ko pa ng 140-160kph, ang kunsumo ko ay 10.5 to 11km/L, so not bad pa rin. Kung pure city naman mga 8.8-9.8km/L. This is from the trip meter. I tried manual computation before and the result was almost the same as the trip meter. Nagtataka nga ako sa tipid nito.

But I don't want to take anything away from the jazz especially regarding fuel consumption. I can hit 15-16km/L if I go easy with the acceleration and limit my speed to around 90-100kph. Pero inaantok ako kapag ganoon .
Thanks for the info. Ang tipid ng Strada. Laki ng improvement ng 4d56 nung malagyan ng CRDi. What brand of fuel do you use?

    Thanks docglen!

I thought that ride with the wider / bigger tires would be less matagtag since you could now use lower air pressure.

Also, would the wider and heavier tires take its toll faster on the suspension and steering components ( tie rods, ball joints, etc. ) ?

Anyway, wait and see muna ako.

good idea . . i don't know of any existing yet. This will be an ideal venue for Strada / Triton owners to share their experiences - pleasant or otherwise.

I intend to keep my new Strada for at least 5 years ( 5 year car loan ! ) and will definitely appreciate a relevant forum for interaction.

    thanks WEE_69 !

    Hi larshell!

I'm in the process right now of comparing subjectively the performance of my vehicle to different brands of diesel. I've started out with Caltex then Total then right now I'm on Petron. Next week or two I might try out Shell as well. So far, Petron seems to be a little better than the first two. The engine seems to be more quiet and there is less smoke in my morning start-up. Consumption is the same. I haven't tried out speeding with it yet.

I belong to a very active and informative Club/Forum in the UK.. www.L200.org.uk who have members all around the world which makes interesting reading when owners are using their (New L200/ Strada) Trucks in difficult conditions from Iceland to the Sarah!!
    Well worth a look ....

It's more practical for me because it's easy to install and uninstall. Also, you can load something taller, like a refrigerator for e.g., which would not be possible for the sport lid.

My project for next year would be lightweight mags hehe... for faster acceleration, better fuel consumption, and stronger braking (not that the strada is lacking in those).
Ask ko lang sir how much you got yung utility box? Prices quoted by carry boy (casa) for the lids of the new strada are twice than that you've mentioned, and the new utility boxes are costly (40+). TIA!

Last time I asked Jumbo box at Carryboy was around 24 thousand. A cheaper alternative is Rubbermaid Actionpacker ( biggest size ) available at True Value priced at just over 8 thousand, but you will have to improvise by making your own bracket(s) to secure it. Exact ang fit in the bed right between the wheelwells and its height is just about level with the bed's wall. It can be locked using any padlock.
