not recommended... it will definitely cost more than painting it... but definitely i wouldn't recommended it.. its way too temporary....

i'm about to take mine off because its not working well, its peels off eventually..

and about repainting.. look at mine, i had the mat parts repainted just because i'm maselan and i wanted it blacker.. so everything that's already flat/mat black, i had repainted over just to make it darker. except for the body, nothing was left unpainted... sideviews, mudguards, bumpers... all painted over.

Look how beautiful it is. hehehe.
also, i forgot to ask.. last time you saw me? have we already met? btw, that's an old pic of my unit. hehehe before my carbon parts.

Lets update shall we? Actually this pic still doesn't have the carbon parts, but at least it has my new rims.

thanks for the tip sir NTYCE. so No for the 3M CF film.
Should I have it re-painted flat black or go back to body color silver?

I've done several coatings already. My paint bill is rising fast. Can't imagine the combo unless I see it. I guess you have more experience on this than me. ty again.

P.S. You're our inspiration in dressing up our montys... not you're going back to stock look? aww.

sir moq, try to customize the parametric eq and select loud on the headunit first while still deciding on a setup. play around with the freq, Q & attenuation. mine doesn't have a tweeter but the kalansing is there. i have a focal polyglass seps on my other ride and planned to move the system to the monty. but since i'm getting older, it seems too much of a hassle to move them coz the stock sound of the monty, if set right is not too bad (subjective). as long as you don't compare it to an amplified system with a sub, it's not bad at all.

you, it really depends on people what they like.. i personally liked the flat black look on my monty at the time.. but then again you have to consider the overall look of your car also, you can't isolate parts and do it as you think is ok.. That's my outlook anyways... so if i were you, sinc you have a chrome grill and chrome garnishes, i'm guessing you're not exactly going for the sportier look.. and i'm guessing, if you plan to get rims or already have rims, you'll go chrome look am i correct? If that's the case, my suggestion is go with the silver.. the flat black with give your car, as stubby put it, an identity crisis.

Hey, this photo has a trademark! no posting without my consent... hehehe..

sorry to hear that your monty had an accident with a meralco cable.. i thought it only needs minor repair...

hope to see and take a picture of your monty in its original shoes..

    hope to see you soon!

oh really? I apologize, in that case, then i'll be collecting for royalties also! hahaha

Thanks for the concern, but technically its still considered minor, just have to change the sideview mirror assembly and a lot of waxing! I just really hope the marks come off with wax and its not deep...

Picture, nah man.. i really doubt it. hahahaha

I was about to set an apointment with Atoy tomorrow for the cf film. So it really peels of Els? Weird cause ive had my experience with 3m products an so far so good no signs of peeling whether it maybe for home use or the car.

Thanks for letting me give it a second thought man. Appreciate it.

QQ: Has any one of you tried dismounting and mounting the stock tires? Heck it so heavy. I was suppose to change from aftermarket to stock and was already having a hard time mounting 1 piece of it. Bigat!

Hassle if i bring it pa to a nearby gas station as i need to load and unload the set of wheels and tires... Oh well just sharing...

P.S. The stock bottle type lift is such a waste of time and money (even if it comes with the unit). Better buy a 3 ton croc jack for ease of use and confidence!

I have always believed that if you have the means and opportunity to get a 4x4 variant then go for it.

    Why?

Well, of course we won't be using 4 wheel drive for most of the time but heck it sure is an inspiring feeling that you can go 4x4 when you need to

Better have it and not use it than need it and not have it.

I also spent extra to get my 4x2 rig converted to 4x4. When Ondoy broke out and the call for 4x4's came in, I was glad I could respond. Hauling stuff, rescuing trapped vehicles from muck, etc.

    Now I don't regret getting a 4x4.

Having and knowing that i have a 4x4 actually gives me a "peace of mind," whatever condition, and wherever i go, i don't hesitate.

Here's the blackened lip para may continuity dun sa black skid cover.

i had the honey comb lower grill chromed to perfection...

the rear "skid plate" should also be black?

    Silver or black???
    RevD,
You did a great job in modifying your Silver Monty
IMHO, Original silver front skid plate and silver rear skid plate look great and matches perfectly the over all design of your Siver Monty.

The chromed lower honey comb grill looks perfectly beautiful too.
May i know who did this chroming job for you?

so a MS is for rough terrain driving "only"(that's what you are pointing to) like in the provinces with more or less 50% unpaved roads.

we'll get the 4x2 2.5 montero at because its only for 90% city driving. the other 10% will be for natural phoenomena reasons ie, floods. i live in malabon. hehehe btw thanks sa pagkwestiyon sa choice ko sir. salamat
mas convenient kung AT lalo na kung traffic saka ang importante eh you know how to use your ride in different road requirement. kasi kung minsan ang akala ng iba porket 4WD eh kahit ano klase daan kaya na paano kung naka lubog ang apat mong gulong pero di makaahon ano ang mga paraan, dyan may sekreto ang mitsu na proven na sa disyerto. pinag kompera nila ang mga SUV LC,Patrol at Pajero pero Pajero lang ang nakaahon. so dapat pagaaralan din natin ang mga function nito not just for display only na kapag kailangan mo eh nawawala ang mga useful function ng sasakyan mo
pasensya na kung may nadaan dapat magkaroon din ng clinic how to use 4WD sa atin yung mga extreme ba .. opinyon lang naman...
