    ^^^ yup, i met up with sir Mikko_828 earlier today and was able to chat with him a bit. i gave him my TWO THUMBS UP (or should i say FOUR TIRES UP) for this one! :rockon:

    Holy Cow! i was in the company of the harsh storms! Ondoy made me cancel ALL my appointments that day when i was in Manila (the officers know this... hehehe) and Pepeng messed up my day-off! But nonetheless, im continuing to pray for all who were affected and greatly affected by the said storms- hoping they will recover.

    baguio is on its way to being normal now, thankfully. as usual, aside from Mikko's, there are several Montero Sport units running around already... hehehe...

    sir revd yup they removed the front and rear bumpers. la naman sa akin if madami magalaw sa removal, so long they put it back properly then im all good

    ntyce, okay ba pink? hmmm... hehehe
    Before anything else. Belated Happy Birthday to Els! Have a good one dude.

    Sir Teejay, Toots na lang no need for using "sir". Haha!
    Ah im assuming its the rear bumper? Thats also the reason why i dont have my MS with me. The whole vehicle is in the paint shop for minor painting. Pati pala front bumper removed. I couldnt imagine an MS with out both bumpers. But for sure once all is set. Everythign will just fall into place. Haha!

    Guys,

    need some opinions from experts and real users since i only get sales pitch from SA's of different car dealers.

    im debating on whether to get a MS 4x2 2.5L or a Honda CRV 4x4

    after reading this thread, im all pumped up to purchase an MS; after reading the thread on issues on MS, i got scared. mitsu has long have a reputation of putting out below quality products, so i have scratched it off my list of brands to consider when buying a car. but MS opened the doors again. its a really nice car (aesthetically). so im now considering it.

    here are my questions: dont know if this is the proper thread to post this, but hopefully i can some suggestions from you guys.

    some of the criteria im gauging the cars on: ride comfort, cabin noise, engine noise, engine power, maintenance headaches - little annoying problems that needs to be addressed; less maintenance the better; ofcourse can be used in relatively passable floods;

    so here are the questions:

    1. overall quality of MS - does it have major quality problems or annoying little problems that i should know of? SAs will never admit this; i even asked the owners of citimotors;
    2. PMS - is it high compared to a CRV? consider frequency and cost per PMS?
    3. cabin noise - do you hear the road noise inside the cabin? do you hear the road bumps? when it rains, is it hard to talk inside the cabin? if yes, can this be addressed or corrected? can we reduce cabin noise by putting in dynamat on the flooring, ceiling and door panels? mahal ba?
    4. ride comfort - since its truck based, some people say you really can get a comfortable ride from a truck based frame since the body rolls with the pavement; but as i read the MS has independent suspensions thus can keep the frame stable, while absorbing the unpaved roads and potholes; can this be improved? improving bushings, suspension? mahal ba?
    5. steering wheel vibrations - saw in the thread MS issues that the steering wheel transmits a significant amount of road vibrations on to the steering wheel and sometimes your arms shakes after driving it for a long road trip, is this true? or this is just a problem for a particular unit?
    6. since flood issue is important to me, i believe that MS will outperform the Honda Crv by a mile in this regard. is it true that the CRV air intake is placed really low and is upside down that it actually cannot be used to cross flooded streets even low level floods?

    i know diesel works better than gas engines in floods; so this is already a plus;

    7. engine noise - i have never owned a diesel engine ever; but with the marketing efforts by auto brands in marketing the CRD engine, it made me consider it. because its supposed to be more powerful and cleaner than gas, and the noise level has been greatly reduce. is this true? if yes, how loud is the engine noise. i still want to be able to appreciate my music while driving; is there a way to reduce the engine noise from entering the cabin area? will dynamat work? mahal ba?

    8. is it a fun car to drive?

    hope you guys can spend time to share your thoughts. really want to be an MS owner someday but i hope that it will be fun and less of a headache.

    Many thanks for the tire info, Sir Mikko. I already asked this in my previous post but I just want to know other opinions before buying a new shoes for my monty. Do you think its really wide if my tires are at 305/50/20? Does the speed will suffer?
