    Hi,
I know it seems early to be asking these questions. The reason I am doing this early is. I don't know the Models here in the Philippines. I am from the US. So, I am learning and seeing what is good/bad. I have made mistakes in the past choosing the wrong vehicle. And not researching it right. I wont make the same mistakes again. I hope I have not offended anyone. Its just me. Thank you again for taking the time to help me.

i suggest not to stick to only one dealer. take time to visit some afterall they're open on sundays naman. if that SA can't tell you right away that you will not be included in the price increase once your unit is delayed then better to go somewhere. wala rin eh diba? refundable naman ang deposit.

I chose the one with the higher quality and got a good discount as i was the first ms club 'member' to have it done though they've fitted a number of monteros already as evident by the skills that their people have shown in removing and reinstalling the seat hardwares and covers. Just mention that an MS club member recommended their shop and most probably they will give you discount as well. Sori dont know how to post pics...
Thanks for the feedback and 'hope that you can really post some pics.
Anyway, i went to sure seats this late afternoon and inquired about genuine leather re-upholstery. Their package rate is much better than seatmate though 'not sure of the workmanship. As for the materials being used, they are using only German Genuine Leather. It is soft and i think better than the leather being used on the stock Fortuner leather seats.

But one thing interesting to note is that Sure Seats is the old Boy C's shop. I have searched for various car interior shops and read some good reviews of Boy C's works in the past.

I'd given myself until this week to find more info or good reviews about this shop prior to making the order. This is the shop nearest to my place. They can even pick up the seats and the sidings from my residence (less hassle!)

But i'm still hoping that somebody could post some pics of what they had with sure seats. It will definitely help on our decision. tia!

Sir, don't get me wrong, there is no offense what so ever, i was simply stating that since by the time you want to buy there are newer models or newer options. Such as, with the montero, we know that mitsubishi is planning to release a certain limited edition model. So that why i was saying that it might be a little too early to research on it now. By the time of your purchase, the pros and cons of each models might change. So far the montero's price has risen a few times since its release last year, and a variant has already fazed out and newer variants came in. See by the time next year, the variants available now (engine, accessories, etc) might not be available which could even make it no longer worth buying. But of course, as of the moment, asking in this thread will only give you a biased answer of the montero being much better than the fortuner.

    Goodpm, sir Ntyce.

May I ask how much your honeycomb/mesh front grille cost?
Seems very sporty and very nice.
I've been to casas and i've observed that their version of honeycomb grille are smaller as compared to the front bumper. Is it made from fiberglass or abs plastic? If im not mistaken, did you buy it from A-toy?

    Thanks in advance.

...need some advice from fellow GLS owners...which is the best option for the door side trims if i have my seats re-upholstered with black genuine leather?...1) maintain its grey color (replaced with genuine leather perforated for the sides and plain with double stitch on the elbow/ hand rest) or 2) make it match the black color of the leather seats (perforated sides/ plain with double stitch on the hand rest)?

...simply asking what is the best/ good looking combo as follows:

black leather seats - grey side trims (current color combination/ maintained color scheme but re-upholstered with genuine leather)

black leather seats - black side trims (re-upholstered with black genuine leather)

Pls backread... but anyways, it is kinda hard to find again..

my honeycomb as of the moment is 1 of.. unless wengG2 has already been successful with it. The grill is my original stock grill destroyed and modified to look like that. But i know atoy has a grill for sale with a different mesh also, just not like mine. But yes, they were the ones who did it. But they don't carry the mesh.

^ For me, i'll choose the light grey leather interior of the SE version, to maintain the OEM look.

LuxeLeather offered me a genuine leather re-upholster for my 2.5 GLS, for 38thou including door sidings. Perforated, light grey genuine leather. 2 days installation. What do you think? I think at Seatmate, it will cost you about 50k ++

Thanks for the feedback. We have decided to get our seatcovers from sureseats (leatherette) but also decided to wait for our 1000km PMS before ordering our seatcovers (Still have 400km to go). Would really appreciate some pictures though, if you can. The family still insists on seeing some pictures. Although, from your feedback and a quick trip to sureseats to see their services, I for one, am already sold to the idea of getting seatcovers from them. Thanks again.

based on reviews, seatmate leads this car shop category though their shop is really far from the south of metro. yup, i got that same price quotation from seatmate, i even got 55k as initial offer. while from sure seats, it's 10% lower. that price range is for a pure leather re-upholstery.

the price you got of 38K is probably a combination genuine and synthetic leather. seatmate and sureseats can quote you that almost the same price range or even lower. a combination is where they use genuine leather for all exposed parts (areas where you seat) and use synthetic for sidings and backings of seats.

i will have mine for almost the same price but will have my 2 front seats upholstered with genuine leather (all areas); then 2nd and 3rd rows (genuine leather face while synthetic on the sides and backings)

by the way, my question is whether to have the side trims leathered with grey or black color...as for the seats, i shall have it in black. no way i can consider grey for the seats since the plastic trims that covers the lever arms, anchor bolts, and even the seatbelts are all black. it will never look oem and will look even worst if seats will be re-upholstered with grey leather.

Hi. I just got my new 3.2 MS GLS SE from Motorplaza Pangasinan after one week of waiting. My agent told me that my car belongs to the new batch of MS from Thailand.. improved so he said. It's a gorgeous, striking Sedona Red! It is my first time to have a diesel engine... my previous cars are Honda CRV 2005 and Honda Civic 2006... Being used to gas-powered vehicles, i can honestly say that the ride is quite different... though, I was expecting that it would be different.

My first impression of the ride were as follows:
    1. The engine is noisy, but that is self-explanatory (being of diesel lineage).
    2. Though it's diesel powered, the ride is smooth.
    3. The thud as you start the engine ( as others claim it) is..... I couldn't notice it!!!!
    4. The sensitive steering wheel which is an item mentioned in the thread: "ISSUES FOR THE MONTERO SPORT" is not a problem for me because I don't feel it.
    5. The keyless remote entry, the security system is cool!!!! It's different but cool!
    6. The leather seats are cool.
    7. The sound quality from the audio system is much much better than the CRV.
    8. and many more....

To the organizers of the club MS, congratulations and to the avid thread maintainers and followers, keep it coming.... we are learning a lot from all of you.... !

Can I join again..? Regarding seat covers, aside a leather material being costly and smells expensive, leatherette being cheaper and looks leather and cloth cover even part of freebie items..

Hence, is the leatherette cover really too hot when exposed to unshaded, sunny parking area? I mean a cloth cover can be hot but its fabric material dessipates heat quickly while a leatherette is made of plastic fibers. So plastics retains heat longer....In effect it requires more cooling energy and is costly in the long run..genuine leather really belongs to top of the line..cloth cover is the most practical choice though it dont serve the purpose in a day to day situation..i.e., a loose, burning cigarrette tip or a spilt ink or beer seeping thru the original seat cover can spell trouble..had lots of arguments with wifey a long time ago..
