Panu nyo po malalaman kung kailangan na palitan yung engine? Sana naman hindi.. sabi kasi Piston overhaul daw.. magkano kaya po?

oopss!! my bad.. sorry po. ma'am hunny pala
yung sa lolo ko, andami nang sira. nagpalit na sya before ng cylinder head * 40k. then daming leak ng oil. laging overheat. kung maka punta nga sya sa amin, sa area na nag park sya eh andaming spots nf oil. after nun eh tinanggalan na ng turbo. itim na ang usok. then after sa mga problemng yun, bumili na erpat ko ng 4m40 na makina ng space gear (pareha lang daw eh..) sa manila tas pina ship lang dito samin. ang price ng makina eh 80k. umiiyak na ang bulsa ng lolo ko.. haha.. sabagay yung pajero nya eh poor maintenance. hindi maganda ang pagkakamaintain. ngayon ok na pero lately na naka punta sya dito samin, pag tingin ko sa baba may leak ng oil nanaman. may spot nanaman pag alis nila. hindi pa naman na figure out kung ano nanaman yun. tas nag overheat nanaman daw. ang problema kasi sa lolo pag sya nagdadrive eh hindi nya napapansin na tumataas na pala ang temeprature. kung hindi yun napnsin ng isang relative namin, patay, palit cylinderhead nanaman kasi mag cacrack yun. ang radiator fan cover daw na pudpud. dahil daw ata sa overheat. ang masklap wala nang mabibiling ganun. i-eepoxy nalang daw nila..
haay ewan ko ba kung kailan yun maayos na as in wala na talagang problema.. bili nalang sya 2nd hand pajero FM 99 para solve. (btw ang pajero nya is jap import na 4m40 92 model)
kung hindi pa naman ini reccomend ng mekaniko na i change engine, wag na muna kasi baka ma-aayos na yan sa piston overhaul lang muna.. wala po akong alam kung magkano magpa piston overhaul.. heheLast edited by JJCarEnthusiast; May 1st, 2008 at 12:58 PM.

i just had it checked and good news is hindi daw sya sa engine.. walang usok yung car.. sa turbo daw naglleak yung oil kaya nagkakain ng langis.. so yun daw po papalitan ko. Still expensive but cheaper than the engine.. hehe. Hahanap na lang po ako ng turbo..
Thanks very much for all the help. grabe ang mahal pala ng engine 80k.. 50k sabi sa akin nahilo na ako eh..

May 1st, 2008 05:04 PM #2334Mali pala ako.. mas mahal pala ang turbo than engine.. nasa 104k yung bago.. i don't know kung may okay na surplus.. i can buy repair kit worth 17k but I need a good mechanic who can do it..

sana naman po may surplus. ang engine price na 80k (hindi talaga sya exacty 80. 80 ata starting price pero magaling tumawad erpat ko eh.. hehe) is surplus. ewan ko lang kung may turbo na surplus.. nakakahilo talaga pag sinabihan ka na ng mekaniko na: mam, sira na ang _____ nyo. palitan na natin to.. nasa 50k lang yung nakita ko sa surplus shop"
lalo na talaga pag may sinama syang LANG sa statement nya

ms. hunny, pareho po tayo ng ride, try niyo po kay joseph atutubo, siya ang recommended mechanic ng pajero owners dito, yung contact info niya nasa previous pages, try calling him and tell him your turbo problem,
Im surprised na bumigay yung turbo ng 4m40, kasi low pressure lang turbo natin, did you do any modifications to increase its boost pressure? and do you cool down the turbo after long drives?

ayun. mam hunny baka you dont let your engine and turbo cool down after trips? kahit takbo ka lang sa high way reccomended talaga that you leave your engine idle for say 3 minutes. if you're in a hurry always and dont have the time to wait for 3 minutes, then there's no reason for you not to get a turbo timer. it will help your turbo much. you have to cool it down kasi mainit pa yan eh kaya pag diretso mo i turn off ang engine, parang na pwersa sya. dapat hinay-hinay sya mag cool down, hindi diretso..

jjcarenthusiast, bro try ko explain, its not literaly cooling down the turbo and engine, hindi siya pinapalamig, have you seen how a turbocharger works? silip mo www.howstuffworks.com very interesting yun, with animation pa, pag pinatay mo kasi engine nawawala yung oil supply ng turbo kaya naluluto yung oil sa bearings, nagiging parang varnish. (just imagine parang habang tumatakbo engine mo tapos tinanggal mo oil habang naka start, just imagine the damage). ang turbo kasi tuloy tuloy ang ikot kahit pinatay mo na makina, basta may pressure sa exhaust mo, di hihinto ang turbo, kaya pag nag high rev ka mas mabilis pa lalo ang ikot. kaya dapat idle ka muna ng ilang seconds para bumagal ikot ng turbo.
