Will note for that Sir, thanks for the input.
How about stock/orig. parts availability? Sa Banawe ba maraming parts nun? Mga magkano aabutin (reasonable range) para ma-restore ko siya in good/stock condition just in case? Thanks in advance.
* Sir Larshell - if montero series ba orig LHD or converted RHD din? Yung harap kasi nung binebenta mo dati na 1990 motero a/t hawig nung type kong 1989 Black Pajero SWB.

AFAIK, No 3door Pajero gen1 Diesel A/T na hindi JDM ang alam ko coverted lahat Diesel A/T Gen1 or Gen2 na available dito sa manila. Yes Banawe maraming parts nyan. Medyo may kahirapan narin ang parts ng Gen1. Price range 180K lower depende sa kondition.
Cost for restoration will depend on what you want. If you want a head turning restored Pajero, you will spend more.
Montero is USDM not coverted or orig lefthand drive. Yes JDM and USDM Pajero is almost the same except to some, like grills and interior.

Thanks for the input Sir. So you mean, may available na Gen1 SWB Montero parin sa Pinas - as I understand A/T gas fueled lang available? If yes, mga magkano kaya price range? My plan is to stick with the stock interior/exterior beauty of the car siguro except for the sound system kaso hindi mo rin masabi kung anjan na. Anyway, sencia na mga Sir sa OT. Hehe.

November 17th, 2008 03:12 PM #2839Sir PB, here's an update of my FM. Sorry a little bit late kasi i was out of the country. These are the items replaced:
1. Valve cover (kasi nabutas) - surplus lang ang pinalit
2. Timing Chain
3. Chain guide (2 pcs)
4. Camshaft (kasi naputol)
5. Engive valve (4 pcs)
6. Camshaft housing (1 pc) - surplus rin
7. Gasket
8. Sprocket - surplus rin
9. meron pang iba, which my wife bought (small items)
10. Machine shop ang cylinder head
This coming wednesday pa makuha ang ride ko, natagalan kasi sa machine shop - around 1 week.
So far, ang damage ko around P40k
If you want to check the chain, you need to remove the radiator and other stuff sa harap (it will be a lot of work, pero it pays to check). Siguro, the symptom that i can think of was the increase of engine noise during neutral at tumaas ang rpm to 1100. Akala ko lang before its the off and on of the aircon-compressor, kasi after a while bababa rin ang rpm to 900. Hopefully ok na ang ride ko this wednesday.
