To all owners of monty 2011 2.5l 4x2 vgt, do you have the rubber left foot rest? Please let me know so that i can ask for it, since mine doesnt have it... (or only the high end model has it?)

Pansin ko lang din yung ibang monty may key access at the back, while others like mine don't have it...

bakit 350nm ang torque ng VGT montero 4x2? ang 4x4 lang ba 400nm of torque? so mas malakas pala ang 4x4 kesa sa 4x2?

Sir, the 400nm only applies to Montero sport with manual transmission and VGT, which Is not sold here Montero M/T 4x4 sold here does not have VGT. Honestly, I don't think the VGT is the sole reason for the power boost as The Toyota Fortuner 3.0 and even the Y61 Nissan Patrol 3.0 already uses VGT from the time they were launched here.

AFAIK matagal na yung VGT sa Montero Sport, dun sa Australia pa, mukhang wala namang pumalya.

Tsaka same engine yung Montero at Grand Starex (4D56 CRDi-VGT)
Exactly my thoughts, I was even thinking that if indeed this technology originated in Korea then its the main reason why Hyundai and Kia's car sales are now gaining on market share. tingin ko impeccable naman yung evgt. I don't know what's on the mind of my agent maybe the simple explanation na di nila mamo-move yung old model would be his primary reason.

Korean technology? where? He thinks vgt is korean ? Vgt has been around for many years.

The very same Mitsubishi 2.5L vgt engine has been around and powering stradas and monteros for a few years already. Just not here in The Philippines.
Why would I wind you up? what good will it do me? Sorry if Im not aware that the evgt tech has been around for years. not my fault if im clueless with the facts you pointed out but I agree with you and the others who advised that my agent has some sort of a hidden agenda. Thanks for the info anyways.

Thanks Sir Quartzbro, now youve given me a good idea, time to get even with this agent as ako yung nagmumukhang tanga sa thread na ito. maybe the manager oughta know.

Try adjusting it sa night mode. I've seen sa menu and sa manual na may day mode at night mode, though I haven't tried changing it to night mode. Or put it on standby mode such that only the clock is displayed. Explore mo lang yung options. Hope this helps.

But then again MMPC themselves estimated the GT-V would come out this week. Now it seems we have to wait at least 2 more weeks .
Can anyone give the PROS and CONS of A/T as against M/T?

Cause if MS 4x4 M/T GTV will not comes out in the market by April-May, i may opt to buy the MS 4x4 A/T GTV... i want to know cause for many years my family uses only M/T..... tnx....

I have not heard any talk of a M/T GT-V; just the GLS-V 4x4 M/T (no leather etc). That would be inline with the last line-up. The flagship top of the range SE only came with A/T.

Pros and Cons? Auto is more expensive to buy and repair, and is usually less economical. Auto is great to drive if you are doing lots of stop starts. With experience you can control exactly what gear you want to be in with the accelerator alone. With the tiptronic feature, it makes it even more versatile but tbh have I seldom used it on my two cars back home.

I bought my first auto back in 1995 after 20 years of M/T driving. I would not even consider buying a car with a M/T now; although I still drive other peoples M/T from time to time.

An MS 2011 plus a DPChip what will happen?
Not sure what you mean by a DPChip.

If it is a stand alone plug in common rail chip box; it will increase your ps from 178ps to about 210/220ps and torque from 350NM to around 450NM.

Yep. Actually it's just VGT for the Monty. Mechanically controlled by solenoid. While the eVGT is electronically controlled via ECU.

Maybe wala pang masyadong alam yung agent mo brother.

Kung ako ang tatanungin, go for it. I-trade mo na yung 2010 GLS mo sa 2011 GT-V for a great upgrade, kasi yung GLS lang ulit, parang wala nagbago sa exterior

IMO it has someting to do with the transmission as well. For example, Ford's 3.0 CRDi has 156hp but has 380 Nm of torque. Mitsu's own 3.2 DiD in MS is 161 hp and 343Nm while the same engine in the Pajero 162hp (+1) but 374Nm.

    not exactly true SG
The vgt actuator is not mechanically controlled by solenoid.

Mitsubishi vgt is controlled by ecu. The ecu controls the solenoid which controls vacuum pressure that controls a vacuum (mechanical) actuator opening and closing of vanes.

eVGT is just a simpler and cheaper system where the ecu controls an electro motor actuator directly to open and close the vanes.
Jeep among have been using eVGT engines made/designed by VM Motori long before the Koreans. Actually Italian company VM Motori have made engines for lots of car makers including Toyota and ford. Even Hyundai used to make engines under license from them?

If you really want the real measure of the power you get to the ground you need to get it on a dyno. Pero mas mababa talaga natitirang power ng A/T compared to M/T. Mas malaki ang power loss sa drivetrain.
