Hi guys. I think mitsubishi has found a solution to the problem. I went to Diamond Motors EDSA Ortigas yesterday and made the same complaint. After about 2 hours pinakita sa akin wala nang usok. What they did according to them was to clean my EGR and reset the fuel system.

Did your brandnew car's battery been disconnected before? Have you had any electrical upgrade like replacing the stock horn which may require disconnecting the battery?
Sometimes the correct set-points/variables learned and memorized by the engine ECU at a correct conditions (engine coolant temperature, fuel temperature, accumulator/ commonrail fuel pressure, etc) may be lost when the battery is disconnected for some period of time.
The ECU may have built-in back-up power (capacitor) but those back-up maybe designed to last for: Let say, within the average time required to replace the old battery with new one.

    Good morning to everyone,

Just would like to post my comments on the three items being mentioned on the thread.

    1) Fuel - would just like to solicit some expert opinions or experiences of members in reference to the fuel they use. I often use Caltex particularly because I am just so used to gassing-up from them. Just would like to inquire base on other owner's/members' observation, what would be the best fuel to use for our MS? Still notice minor smoke on my tailpipe specially during morning start-ups. Appreciate very much your kind inputs here.

    2) Steering - Never really crossed my mind about the need to be concerned about the steering but now that sir quartzbro and the others mentioned it, it just hit me that yes, I did noticed a bit that the steering does not immediately goes back to its original position when cornering. May just have to inquire with my casa when I do my 5k pms, just about to hit 3k on my odo and expecting to hit the 5k. mark within the holidays.

    3) dvd - works fine while in motion although since mine is gls-v and am not very keen on putting headrest monitors mainly because they are wrapped in leather, my teenage kids got a bit nauseated watching Tangled from the mid row, gawking thru the in-dash dvd player...hahaha...

    Here is what I did:

Sit in car with key inserted but not turned. Hold pressed the RED button (down on the bottom left side of the dashboard) and then turn the key to ACC and wait for the bleeping. Afer a few seconds the BLUE light will go out and then you can release the red button.

Now when you lock the car with the remote; the BLUE light flashes and the alarm is set. When you unlock the car with remote; the BLUE light goes out completely as it should.

    SORTED
Congratulations to you "Thread Starter" for having now the long awaited A1 and a top selling ride

Battery was not disconnected and no modification whatsoever. My GLSV is only three weeks old. They do not know the cause. In fact when I had my 1000 pms, they only recorded the emission result and they said they will forward it to the plant. But I went back a few days later kasi tingin ko there was really something wrong with the car. Initially they said the plant has not given feedback yet. I, however, suggested if they could at least reset the computer box and see what happens (sa Toyota kasi alam ko ganyan ang ginagawa sa Innova ko dati pag mausok or mahina humatak). Which they did. Nawala ang usok. But they said they also cleaned the EGR. I have little knowledge of CRDIs, VGTs and EGRs, but I know the whole process is being controlled by the ECU so to correct any problem, especially when you do not suspect any mechanical parts malfunctioning at this stage as the unit is new, reset the ECU.

Might be during the installation of locally installed accessories (such as alarms?... any other?), the Thailand factory learned/memorized diesel control settings were screwed-up. Thus requiring a correct reset.

Hi i am just a newbie here. Just recently bought a GLS-V. So far my family is impressed with the power and handling capabilities of the awesome machine. europa horns upgrade are deafening( nagtatabihan mga kuligligs na singit ng singit hehehe).

    post some pictures next time.

Thanks Sir Expatio for this thread and all those who contributed on these forum, it is a big help on deciding to get this ride.

Downside or frustrating part is the harness wiring on the 3 MID which WINTERPINE intentionally did not put it, if ever you will put a headrest monitors and back up camera. We have to procure these monitors and camera only from Winterpine otherwise this company will not give you the harness wiring receiver for this if you have an after market monitors and camera.

A little bit of information given by my SA is that Winterpine is the sole assembler and distributor of all Mitsubishi's car audio and electronic gadgets. Basically this company are the one who install our headunit, etc from the plant in Cainta Rizal. My SA told me also that electrical wiring will be void if ever you get an after market gadgets and not from casa but if it is from Winterpine they will not void it as well. WHHHHHATTTT?!! ( i am beginning to wonder if MMPC is in cahoots with this company)

    Got my white GLS-V yesterday

so far, it feels a 1.4M ride....

Regarding those headrest cables debate.... I'm thinking of maybe getting it from Carland or winterpine.

Any feedbacks from winterpine? Ok ba sila gumawa, kung sa kanila ko ipa -install yung amps and speakers ko? oks din kaya sila?
    Teka san ba shop nila?

BTW, I kinda like the hood deflector (EGR) for the white Monty? Any ideas how much?

*Slick50, Congrats to you. Enjoy ug drive safely

    *Kutangbato, Salamat Sir. Y sapayan.

    * Quartxbro. Have it three weeks now.

*metslgx. My first fuel that caused the bit of smoke on extended idle was Caltex. After that I put Shell Ultra in a local station that is pretty new and modern. No more smoke.

As for smoke whilst driving/accelerating ... This would be down to the driver IMO. Either not used to diesel or/and auto box.
Of course if you are behind a manual diesel car (toyota?) emitting black smoke overtaking he/she probably started his overtaking maneuver in too high a gear.

A tip: For those with GTVs; when overtaking in auto mode you can slip down a gear quicker by clicking left paddle rather than waiting for kickdown. After you accelerate flick and hold right paddle for 2 secs and it changes up and back into auto mode. No need to use gear lever to go from auto to semi-manual or vice-versa.

    Congrats Sir Petixs

Yes. It could be. Mine was released hastily bec I requested that the unit be released on the day it arrived at the plant in cainta (from bauan). So when I got it, there was still no tint and seat covers. I promised to come back a wk after for the tint. They even made me sign a waiver that I did not read. Alarm was also not activated (blue light always on). Perhaps it was sop for them to reset, but bec of my prodding, they didn't do it anymore. Kutob ko Lang ha.

    Good Morning.

My White GLX Monty arrived this April 7. The ride is fantastic, the accelaration is awesome. This is my first SUV coming from a Isuzu Crosswind and I am loving it every minute.

I activated the alarm using the following steps:

    1. turn on the ignition
    2. press the button located just above the foot rest for 5 to 10 seconds, you will hear a sound (just like the lock unlock sound on the valet mode)
    3. once you hear the sound the alarm is activated, you will notice the blue LED turning on and off
    4. tested the alarm by locking the Monty and using the key to open the door and the alarm turned on
Note: the ACC mode did not work for me

Happy Driving to all and God Bless.

oks gumawa ang winterpine but it a pricey one though.
carland is reasonable on their prices but araneta car accessories near winterpine is value for money on amps and speakers much lower and good quality on their works.
on headrest/camera cables only winterpine has it because they are the installer of our headunit before it will be brought to casa. winterpine intentionally omit such wiring so they can be assured of that we get all headrest monitors, audio, camera gadgets, etc from them.
