Telephone Answering Device so that the caller can challenge the machine and introduce himself or herself... And the ones near the phone can hear that and can decide to answer or not. And you can check it regularly to return his or her call.... a deterrent for dugudugo too....

Or a call forwarding to your handphone, but that's bothersome so i do not personally recommend it.

Answering machine? I have that in my room but other people tend to hang up if it's an answering machine. Personally I hate it too. Also, why would I forward landline calls to my handphone when I rarely get calls in the landline?

What I simply want is for people at home to answer it because the ringing is annoying and I know the call isn't for me anyway.

Tell the people you know they should leave a message because you don't just answer the phone because of telemarketeers. That's what we do.

Family, friends, work, even (real) delivery guys. They all know well enough to leave a message first and they understand why. When they start dictating their message, we answer the phone if the call is important enough. If not, oh well.

We also use only the default recording that came with the answering component. That way, there are no identifying voice and info.

You can adjust the number of rings the answering machine will allow before activating. We have ours at three rings.

Ours just say, "Please leave a message after the tone." We quit using our own voices.

Your boss seems like an ahole.

When I hear stories like this, I appreciate my boss even more. A few weeks ago I had flu and was absent for more than a week. He covered for me and even sent me home early when I went back to work.

When people says CHAKA instead of SAKA.

I remember in Filipino class, the word is SAKA.

Example: Mabait siya at saka matalino

    Mabait siya AT CHAKA matalino
